Looks like with unlimited power to print money, unlimited money will be printed. Is the money printing is spinning out of control?

Where is the inflation? There should be some inflation given what's going on. Gold should not be dropping price! Not to sound like a gold bug, but I think we're starting to see why moving off the Gold standard may be a problem.

There is some voodoo at work here. I hope Uncle Jerome and those experts at the Fed know what they're doing.

Oh, I definitely see prices rising at stores and what not. They do do some voodoo on their CPI calculations and what not. Inflation will come back in a BIG way. I don't know when, but it will be a new kind of hurt for a generation that never experienced it.
 
Lumber looks like one ... 3X since May.

I think migration demand is the biggest part of in my region. My daughter/husband were turned down for even a first day look at an $850k new build in mid-TN just hitting the market. It had 21 offers and bidding was still in progress.

It’s interesting to consider what is going through these people’s minds.

It's everywhere. Mostly in the places you don't want it to be.

Who knows when it gets away from the Fed - but it will. They think they can control it when it hits hard.

They can't. So grab your popcorn when the lid pops.

Just remember, if popcorn goes to $3, and people start eating dirt because they can't afford $3 popcorn, the feds will say there is basically no inflation because said popcorn is no longer even being consumed and the price of dirt has only gone from .0001 cents to .00010001 cents....
 
Completely agree. Something doesnt seem right at all. When COVID finally dissipates i think therell be a lot more issues around economies etc
 
baseball cards all time high. It’s out there. A lot of it is hidden, like the bag of chips with the same price but more air inside. The washing machine same price but made with cheaper material. No?

I have had a habit of tracking expenses for quite a few years now, and based on our family I say despite what the economists make up, we are in an inflationary period and have been for close to a year. I would guess we are a pretty standard family and we are definitely laying out more cash monthly than a year ago, and definitely more than 2 years ago, and have been for roughly 6 months.
