$1,000 and emini index futures

I trade with Global and day trading margin
requirements for YM is $500 per contract. And numerous other Brokers have the same ploicy !! Just check around. Your looking at Margins to carry a contract overnight

Did you end up trading with the $1000 account? If so how about an update?
 
I prolly shouldn't be giving trading advice (follow it at your own peril), but if I had $1000, I would either dump it into AAPL once it starts back up, or I would use the patterns and advice found in the AHG tread, and just scalp YM chop/points of indecision on the 400 share constant volume chart (10 tick stop, 15 tick starting target which becomes 3 tick adjustable target so you get on board the bigger jumps).

Get the hell out if the trade isn't going anywhere or your way. I hope you make it work.

I never said I would do it...just wondering what people would do if they had only $1,000...also, you can trade the eminis at global futures with $300 daytrade margins (not overnight margins)...go for it!!!
 
Don't listen to these naysayers. It's easy to turn $1,000 into some big profits with some good discipline!

I started with an account of $1250 and in my first 15 trades had $9500 with my system.

The key is having good software like Ninjatrader that let's you see when it's time to buy and sell. The charts practically tell you what to do!

It has been almost 11 months now and The initial $1,000 is over $100,000 today

Just do it! Believe in yourself! Praise Kwanza!
