    Is IB's 1099 for 2001 wrong?

By the way, my other accounts are at TradeStation (1099 issued by Bear Stearns), TD Waterhouse and Schwab. Not exactly fly-by-night operations. IB is the only broker that does not include the cost of commissions in computing Gross Proceeds on the 1099. Either BS, TDW and Schwab is wrong and...

    Is IB's 1099 for 2001 wrong?

This discussion was started on another on the "IB tax record keeping" thread, but I believe it deserves its own thread. IB's 1099 does not include commissions when reporting the "Gross Proceeds" from trades. All of my other broker's include the cost of commissions, ie., commissions are...

    IB: Trade record-keeping software.

IB's 1099 does not include commissions when reporting the "Gross Proceeds" from trades. All of my other broker's include the cost of commissions, ie., commissions are deducted from the proceeds. I feel that IB's version is wrong because there is no way for the IRS to know how much we paid for...

    Tradestation Problems?

Most traders don't use datek's data to trade off of. With TS, we all rely on them to provide accurate, timely and continuous data. Unfortunately, TS has been horrible lately. The data was probably interrupted 12-15 times today. And, no, its not my ISP at fault.

    Tradestation Problems?

Data is off and on today. Pretty bad, untradable. These jerkoffs probably got to many new customers with their new ads on CNBC and elsewhere and their servers can't handle it. If you are thinking of opening an account here, stay away from TradeStation.

    Tradestation Problems?

Yes, I also got booted off around 3:30 PM today. I was able to get back in after about 5-7 minutes and then got booted off again about 15 minutes before closing. After another attempt to log back in, I got in a couple of minutes before 4:00 PM. This is the second time in the last few weeks...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

I don't see any PRIMEX routing on NASDAQ stocks today. As a result, marketable orders are being executed instantaneously. Thanks def if you had anything to do with this.

    IB routing to PRIMEX

http://www.nasdaqtrader.com/trader/...x_syst_desc.pdf PRIMEX clearly states that market orders MAY NOT be instantaneous, but stuck in a 15 or 30 second "black hole" (as someone on this thread called it). def, please read PRIMEX's description of how its system works and tell me how market...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

def, I suspect that those who claim to get better execution through PRIMEX are those that trade small lots like 100 or 300 shares. Yes, def, I know that IB has been quite innovative and responsive to its customers. Thats why I am not transferring my funds just yet. I will wait and see what...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

    >>Why would they do this? Either Primex is cutting them in on some revenue or they are trying to avoid ECN fees.<< Agree 100% with AAA on this one. IB used to have the fastest and best executions out there. Unless IB is getting kickbacks for routing through PRIMEX or trying to avoid...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

I was trading in and out of some of the large cap biotechs today and PRIMEX really screwed me several times. On a couple of occasions, I tried to sell 1000 shares at market but PRIMEX held the orders even though there was ample size on the best bid. After about 5 seconds, it executed, but by...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

By the way, I also use Tradestation and I can no longer say that IB's "Best" is faster than TS's "Intelligent" routing. Prior to PRIMEX use by IB, IB was slightly faster on most fills. Now, there is no comparison on the stocks that IB routes to PRIMEX. Currently about 90% of my trades are...

    IB routing to PRIMEX

The sudden use of PRIMEX is a major step backwards in my opinion. The fills are much, much slower than in the past. I can no longer say that the fills are "instantaneous" on the stocks where its routed to PRIMEX. There is no noticeable price improvement either. Is there a way we can route...

Traits of a top trader Re: Wordlco

    >>I remember when I wrote a resume for the princess who worked at American Jeans before, I put down "inventory management" and "customer service" instead of "I am a cashier and I fold jeans".<< Thanks for the chuckle. Reminded me of the resumes I used to see in my previous occupation. One...

    Tradestation

I have a TradeStation account and based on my discussions with them, my understanding of your questions are: >>1. On the web site, it says "An Equity Account that trades fewer than 10 times per month (30 times per quarter) ... is deemed non-active and may lose access to TradeStation" Does "10...
