POLL: The repercussions of a US attack on Iraq

Candletrader, One more thing before I leave this forum forever: Get the fuck out of my market, you anti-American asshole. You make me embarrassed to be a trader, you pathetic little man. So long

POLL: The repercussions of a US attack on Iraq

You know, I used to think you were a pretty smart guy, but that moral equivalence crap you're trying to peddle shows you're pretty much an idiot. Anyone who equates anything America has done with the September 11 murders is an intellectual and moral coward.

POLL: The repercussions of a US attack on Iraq

Or better yet, the government can just take 100% of everyone's income and do what they want with it. No more cars!

POLL: The repercussions of a US attack on Iraq

And of course going to war is much, much easier than, say, lifting embargos and just asking for the oil.

Nice twist. Can't refute the message so smear the messenger. Stalin would be proud.

POLL: The repercussions of a US attack on Iraq

Huh... and I thought the liberation of an oppressed people was a moral basis... silly me... and since when does a sovereign nation need global consensus? We're not living under a world socialist government.... yet.

    shorting question

Personally, I never short that way but there's nothing inherently wrong with it. It's just hard to get filled because of the uptick rule. If the stock is really selling, you probably won't get an uptick. If it isn't, you might get filled just as it reverses and runs up again. I usually use...

I'm pretty sure the bottom was today. Unless it's tomorrow. Or some other day.

    Not very volatile

True. After the 400 million or so shares traded in the first 10 minutes we averaged about 150 million an hour. Nothing to write home about.

Anyone use Wall Street Access for trading?

They're not direct access but web based as has been mentioned. And I agree that they are primarily options oriented. You can trade equities there but their commissions are steep, around $25 round trip, I believe.

    Over trading?

That's a good point, RB. I tend to get nervous when commissions are more than 30% but the principal is the same: if you're taking money out of the market and giving it all to your broker, watch out.

    buzz aldrin punched a reporter

"Another so-called NASA "mistake" is a photo of two astronauts and their shadows. In one scene, shadows are going in slightly different directions; does this prove that lighting came from two electric lights? Actually, there is another explanation; the surface of the Moon is not smooth and even...

    Moment of Silence

"We are face to face with our destiny and we must meet it with a high and resolute courage." "The American people are slow to wrath, but when their wrath is once kindled it burns like a consuming flame." "Let us speak courteously, deal fairly, and keep ourselves armed and ready."
