    Flat Panel Monitors

After something like 7 months I have nothing but praise. I have it mated to a Matrox G550 digital. My eyes have never seen a finer display. jf

Active X / VB / DDE / Excel and IB

Fine with passing parameters to IB -- no problem there. No, I am not (at this time) trying to generate programmed orders, simply discretionary.

Active X / VB / DDE / Excel and IB

Okay, I consider myself to be pretty bright but for the life of me I cannot get the Active X / VB for IB down. My needs are simple: When an order I place is confirmed I want the following to happen: -- Immediate Stop order placed (at mathematically derived position, say 5pts from...

    Flat Panel Monitors

Yeah, for PC it is the Silicon Graphics 1600sw. No longer being made, but ebay has them all the time (get one which is a factory refurb with warranty). Go to Ebay and enter '1600sw' in the search. The run around $1200 w/ (required) multilink adapter. For specs, see...

NQ 1min v. Tick data discrepancies

Curious. On E-Signal it is 8:39:46 (CT) not :16, but yes, that is the one. yup, same server. "Live" in MS it didn't show. The data I used to check MS includes refreshed and cached -- neither showed the 1419.5 tick in the tick chart (both did in 1mn). That is what is odd to me --...

NQ 1min v. Tick data discrepancies

Curious: I just downloaded the T&S table from E-Signal and it *does* show 1419.5 (unlike tick chart in MS). Looked at E-Signal 1-minute and again, 1419.5 is shown. As both TF in E-Signal show 1419.5 and only MS (in tick chart) does not, is this then a MS problem?

NQ 1min v. Tick data discrepancies

Good points -- both. Yup, wanna know "why" and the data is making me money, so I'll think I will take a deserved, restful nap :)

NQ 1min v. Tick data discrepancies

    - Data provider is E-Signal - Charting is through Metastock 7.2 I am playing with yesterday's (Friday 5 April) NQ charts and found numerous data discrepancies between data shown on my 1-minute chart and data shown on my tick chart. An easy example is the 8:40am 1-minute bar which shows...

    books and softwere

No need to 'beware.' TL is a Mom and Pop shop with a great selection. Yup, they are sometimes slow, sometime a title get's misplaced in the shuffle and sent out late, but they will get to it and get it out. No affiliation, etc. Just a customer who has gone all through this and *still*...

    eSignal + DDE + Excel

Vikana, Yup, am also guessing that VBA is the answer -- simply I don't know how to sling it and am not especially intererested in learning. Therefore, was wondering if someone else had a handy macro or two? -- thanks,

    eSignal + DDE + Excel

Is there a source of some basic macros for use with eSignal's DDE in Excel? What I am specifically looking for is a Macro which will hold a cumulative total (of 'TradeSize' for instance) in a cell for a specific period (for instance 1 minute, based upon tick data) so that the total can be...

    Monitor purchase

Go on Ebay and get the SGI 1600sw w/ multilink. Cost should be ca. $1200 delivered. Refresh is superb, lots of real estate, superb dot pitch. Apart from the interface (must have multilink adapter) this flatscreen embarrasses all others.

    Advice On New Computer

I don't have enough time on it to give a meaningful answer. On paper, it should be great. Apart from a few "invisible" substantive changes from w2k, the main differences are in the interface. It is a bit "friendlier" than w2k, but not (so far) in a manner which gets in the way. I haven't...

    Advice On New Computer

The Logitech stuff is nice, however haven't had either KB or Mouse long enough to run low on batteries. I won't go live on this system until after I have experienced battery failure on both. The Keyboard (Cordless Freedom Optical) is great. Feels good, has more than adequate range, lots of...

    Advice On New Computer

A few thoughts: Monitors: If you are looking at LCDs be sure they are DIGITAL (have a "DVI" input) and not analog-only. Also, unlike CRTs, LCDs have a "native" resolution where they should be run. Most 15-in. are 1024x768; 17-in. are generally 1280x1024. After size and resolution, look at...
