yeah, apparently CBOT are getting rid of the current dow e-minis (index x 2) and the full contracts (index x 10) and making them all A/C/E (?) traded (index x 5). is that right?

Do you guys trade the dow contract? If so, how do you find it cf. e-minis? I thought of trading it, but it 'looks' not too liquid, so execution and size could be a problem.

I agree, one thing J-M did not explain well was the stop-loss situation. How do you determine your exits? Does your system have a predefined minimum profit target (like 2-3 points) or is it based on trailing stop-losses?

metooxx, 'multiple noncorrelated systems' sounds like the only way to go. How is your system similar to J-M's?

Exactly right, selling strenth and buying weakness. Basically looking for reversals. This is not a momentum/trend following system. Not that it is a bad approach, particularly in choppy markets.

So at what stage do 1.50 per side commissions kick in? What kind of volume are they looking for? 1000-2000? Also, I've been using j-trader and it seems very stable and reliable (although a little on the chunky side, as far as configuration availabilities are concerned).

Can somebody please confirm the $1.50 per side e-mini commission rate with e-local? Is there a minimum volume requirement? I am looking to do about 500 contracts per month. Are there any exchange fees or any other fees for using J-trader?

I would be curious to see how the system performed this morning. I did some paper trades this morning and I am mildly down to break even on the day. IMHO I don't think this system would perform well during trendless-whipsaw days like this morning on the NDX.
