The Swiss recently passed an amendment to their constitution guaranteeing bank secrecy. But of course that doesn't apply to the US subsidiary of a Swiss bank. If you want a secrecy you can't leave a paper-trail in your home country.

I think you got it right. Index funds etc. have to roll their positions every month, making them sellers as well as buyers of commodities. Speculators are the usual scapegoats when something is wrong.

Yes, why do some americans freak out when you suggest not reporting everything to the government? In europe it very common to keep some of your assets offshore. Quite a few countries in europe have made a nice business out of it; Switerland, Monaco, Lichtenstein, Luxenburg, Isle of Man...

I don't see the problem, but please correct me if I'm wrong. Offshore tax havens don't report to your home government unless asked about a specific account and even if they start doing that the money is in your companys name so they don't know who you are.

This is how you do it. 1. Set up an IBC(offshore company) in Panama, BVI, Caymans etc. 2. Open bank and brokerages acc in company name. 3. Use anonymous ATM-card to access money.
