Beginner trader here having difficulties avoiding scratches with cash account.

Hi Dking, I'm new(ish) to Options trading myself. IMHO, you may want to paper trade for a while instead of risking real capital, at least until you can develop a strategy that works for you. That said, the market in general seems very volatile right now. I mean, I've been placing paper trades...

Have EVs been overhyped as taking over Gas vehicles? Is realization setting in?

The feasibility of EVs has been over-hyped. They have several things going against them, not least of which is a lack of charging infrastructure. However, that's a moot point anyway because the power grid is so old it wouldn't be able to handle the load. EV adoption is dead in the water.

    ETFs with multiple weekly Options

I'm trying to identify high volume ETFs that are traded daily. I've done multiple Google searches, but besides QQQ and SPY I haven't been able to find any. Could someone please let me know if there are any other domestic or foreign market ETFs with high liquidity that are traded daily besides...

$0 commissions but $1.25 per contract. Same difference.

    Closing trades before Expiration

Is it always advisable to close all trades prior to expiration even if it's obvious that they're going to expire worthless? For example, I've been placing paper trades in SPY and QQQ (with 1DTEs). Even if it's obvious the next day that they're going to expire worthless (let's say the market is...

California sues biggest 5 oil companies over "Climate Change"

CA's losing so many residents and tech businesses the coffers are going dry. Newsom needed to come up with a new source of tax revenue.

0 commission trading plus options in Canada

That's Canada for you. Not progressive. We always get the s**t end of the stick when it comes to choice. Slim pickings when it comes to just about everything in this country; pathetic. Of course, $0 commission trading is already available in the US (and has been for some time now), and I'm not...

    Trading below the 200D MA

I know this rule isn't set in stone, but I've read that in most instances it's not advisable to place bullish trades on stocks currently trading below their 200D MA. What about a situation such as the following: AMZN has been trading below its 200D MA since Sept 19. In addition, over the last...

Trailing Stop Loss use with Options

Taowave, Do you use Orats' screener? If so, how accurate are the win rates when you back test the strategies on trade candidates that you then trade?

    OK. Thanks for the input.

Trailing Stop Loss use with Options

I want to preface this by saying I know some people are against using Stop Losses period when it comes to trading Options. That said, the authors of most trading videos I've ever watched stress the importance of risk mitigation, including using Stop Losses. So, that in mind... I'm wondering if...

    Your opinion of Trade Ideas

Thanks for your input. OK, so what minimum R/R ratio do you recommend? I've been using Barchart's stock screener for a long time now (I find its UI to be the "cleanest" and most intuitive), although I don't think it's as robust as some others. "John Rowland" hosts a lot of their webinars, and he...

    Your opinion of Trade Ideas

Hi All, I'm a newer trader and I only learned about this new app called "Trade Ideas" the other day. I'm interested in hearing from anyone here that has used its scanner and placed trades based on any of the candidates identified. I watched a brief demonstration video of it and it looks very...

    Profit target strategy

To the mods: This question is not platform-specific so it seems like the best place to post it. Feel free to move it to IB if you want... Hi All, I'm new(ish) to Options trading and have a question about setting profit targets. I use IB's TWS but I'm sure the procedure for attaching Bracket...

Triple-Witching Day: Are Options Markets Being Manipulated?

OK... so, what specific BS do I need to unlearn? Do you have a system for identifying high probability trades that win consistently that you're willing to share with me in a PT?

Triple-Witching Day: Are Options Markets Being Manipulated?

Not j Not just TWD. It seems like in general the markets are being manipulated. The popular consensus is that the markets are highly overvalued, and I think there's a valid argument for that. Thus, IMO valuations should have continued to go down last October instead of reversing. This bear...

    Forever Bull Market

I'm new(ish) to Options trading. So, I'll have to take your word for it. That said, market behavior does seem counterintuitive considering all of the factors that have been weighing on it. Also, popular consensus is that the markets are highly overvalued and thus due for a major correction...

    Forever Bull Market

I'm new(ish) to Options trading, and you have a point to a point. I mean, the general consensus is that stocks in general (and in particular tech stocks) are highly overvalued. So, it stands to reason that the market should be due for a major correction. That said, regardless of what bad news...
