    Which is exactly why I went to scalping. Tighter stops, no overnight exposure. No more wild swings in my equity. Btw, it took me 6 years to become profitable.

    I don't care for options due to the large spreads. Most options have .05 spreads, whereas the underlying generally has a .01 spread.

    I reflect on the day as a whole. If I take large hits, I go back to those trades to see what I could have done differently. This is where experience and a good memory(chart patterns) come into play.

    FYI, Amaranth had an excellent sharpe ratio.....till they blew up Any trader/manager who can last in this business is going to manage risk. It's called high-probability setups, using stops, limited downside per trade. Sharpe ratios, etc. mean nothing. ~Past performance is not an indicator...

    Long term Trader versus Intraday Trader which is profitable?

    Long-term trading will always be more profitable -- it is for me anyways. Typically, I hold positions anywhere from one day to three months.
