I feel you trader99, I was long march vix future for all of 5 minutes near the close, made $800, holding for 30 minutes would have netted $10k! That said, vol begets vol, so there will be opportunities for a minimum of two days IMO.

VIX curve right after the close looked like the old curve charts from 08-09 (vixcentral.com). My TDA charts of some of the months, /VXM8 for example, basically look like someone was forced to buy in on the ask into the close, unpleasant!

BTW, speaking of VIX, I was long +1 /VXH8 at 17.90 at 3:48est, took it off 5 minutes later for $800. 30 minutes later, damn thing was up $10k!

+1 KeLo, TDA charts got out of wack late in the day. No surprise though, vaguely recall it doing the same thing during those Obama budget shutdown days, Greece/EU financial showdown days, flash crash day, probably did the night of the election but I didn't happen to have their charts open!
