No, but that's just how it works everywhere. They're in the business of teaching people how to trade (selling people dreams that they can become succesfull traders) not actually trading.

My understanding is that as soon as you're live account is down 2500$ (tuition cost) you're out of the company. That's how their business model work.

What's the point. All trading costs are accounted for. It's not a scalping strategy where slippage can eat most of your profits

If reoptimizing every few weeks was relally a way to make the system work I think he'd want to prove it by having it audited by third party like C2 for example. Obviously he's not doing this instead he's telling people that to make it work you have to fit it to your trading style :confused:

So, I understand that there's no way to verify system's performance unless you subscribe to his optimization service

Proper way to use optimization is to optimize sample of market data, walk it forward and see if it made a difference. If he reoptimizes every few weeks then it's nothing more then curve fitting Matt

ZGtrader, it's highly unlikely that optimization itself will turn a losing system into profitable one. It's just a tool used to smoohen out the results and make curve look better. Try to backtest from 08/2008. Volatillity conditions haven't changed that much from August so it shouldn't have...

ZGtrader don't bother with optimization. I know each system needs to be kept in sync with current market conditions as volatility changes however it doesn't make sense to reoptimize every few weeks. Just use current parameters settings and test 6 month back. Thanks Matt
