I would say power markets are relatively mature now. PJM is the oldest market with by far the most liquidity.

How are these guys still trading if they aren't profitable?

What is your basis for saying that their overall position is negative? I know lots of EDF Traders and I would not say they are not skilled or that it is not their core business.

My question to any one that is trading their own account is, are you guys trading based off mostly free information like EIA and weather models? I ask because I know guys like EDF Trading, BP, and a ton of other huge shops pretty much have every data service out there that costs a lot of money...

Friday was pretty fun. Market dropped from $20 from $60 in an hour, really need congestion to keep markets exciting nowadays. Loudoun is a tricky one.

Well let's get the ball rolling. Pretty darn bearish to be honest with all the new gas builds in the east like Brunswick Panda CPV etc. May was trading 38s shortly after Mid April. BalDay has been terrible these days, really need long term gas to rebound.

Been a slow week, load at the bottom of the barrel, no conastone-northwest, stack is getting stronger by the day. Those weeklies tanked after that GFS cooled off a ton. We'll see if we get the Friday blow ups again if Brandon comes out.

Question for you guys, are there specialized software and platforms that you guys use to analyze the cattle markets? I am in energy, and we have all sorts of very specific and expensive software and platforms used to analyze fundamentals of the power markets (Genscape, Yes Energy, Innotap etc.)...

thanks for your input. how long have you been trading for? how has this past year or two stacked up against past 5-10 years in terms of volatility and opportunity.

What's your view on cash trading in the long term? West Hub has been clearing dirt cheap these days with Tetco at less than $1. Not to mention once they finish building that Bagley parallel won't see much BGE congestion.
