Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Thanks for that, do you have to withdraw all your funds? IB doesn't seem to give the option of specifying the amount.

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

I have just logged into my bank to send a transfer to the AMP USD account as per their wire instructions. When I type in HATRUS44 for the swift code, they are giving me the option of HATRUS44 which they are calling 'Harris Trust Savings Bank' or HATRUS44SET which they are calling 'BMO Harris...

Who converts the GBP to USD? Your bank or AMP?

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

I will let you know how I get on. I have started thinking about an alternative to AMP. I still have an IB account which I haven't used for a long time but is still active. I can fund that with GBP no problem, and use it with Sierra charts I believe. What I am after is a decent order entry...

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

So you had to fund it in USD? If I do that I am going to lose out on the exchange rate I have noticed. The bank charge a huge spread on the buy and sell, that is why I wanted to stick to GBP.

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

The money has now been returned to me, and they have given no reason why. Apparently someone is going to call me tomorrow. Incredibly frustrating, and I think it is my bank that is letting me down - nothing to do with AMP.

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Thanks for the replies. I have spoken to the bank and they said the transfers take 3-5 working days, and that upon checking there were no problems with the transfer. They asked me to give it a couple more days. Frustrating when you can do instant transfers domestically.

Any other non-US (UK based) clients using AMP

Can anyone tell me how long a GBP wire transfer to AMP takes to show up in your account? I sent a wire transfer on Thursday (Thanks Giving Day) which left my account on Friday. Today (Tuesday), it is still not showing in my AMP account. I have called them to chase it but it just asks you to...

New AMP account - fund with GBP or USD?

Because I am in the UK so use GBP for everything. It might make it easier to keep everything in my own currency.

New AMP account - fund with GBP or USD?

Thanks for the replies. What exchange rate do they use? Is it the live exchange rate at that time? Is there much of a spread on the buy and sell price? If I am trading purely US indices, wouldn't it be easier just to fund the account in USD? What are the minimum requirements for each futures...

New AMP account - fund with GBP or USD?

I have recently returned to trading US index futures after trading FX for the last few years. I have opened an account with AMP and want to trade ES, NQ, YM etc, so all USD based. It appears as though I can fund the account either in USD or GBP. Obviously GBP is tempting, but how does it work...

2X2 quad monitor stand for HP LP2475w

Correct. They're nice monitors, I have been pleased with mine so far. I admit sometimes it feels like overkill for the trading I am doing, but it's nice to see everything I want at the same time.

2X2 quad monitor stand for HP LP2475w

They could go closer together if I wanted to. I am moving house shortly. I will probably spend more time getting them set up right when I move. There is a clamp on the centre vertical tube holding the arms for the top two monitors. This will slide up and down the vertical tube to any...

2X2 quad monitor stand for HP LP2475w

I don't have any pictures, but I am sure I could try to take some. I'll need to look into what I need to do. Yes, the weight of the monitors was an issue when I'd left the quick release mounts in place. Because this meant the monitors 'protruded' away from the stand they were acting like a...

2X2 quad monitor stand for HP LP2475w

I have the same setup you're talking about - four HP LP2475w monitors in a 2x2 configuration. I went to a company here in the UK, who sell mounts made by Vision Pro. I am using the EMVP322 http://www.ergomounts.co.uk/emvp322-visionpro-300-series-multiple-lcd-monitor-stands.htm It works...

New Dell 3400 with dual NVS 290 cards - good enough?

Yes, they're nice monitors. One things has me slightly worried though. Pretty much each monitor is showing a slightly different white when I stretch a white background across all the screens (such as Google homepage etc). This is also noticeable to a lesser degree when viewing light colours...

New Dell 3400 with dual NVS 290 cards - good enough?

Just a quick update. My machine arrived today, and I have it hooked up to four 24" HP LP2475w monitors. So far, it is performing brilliantly. One thing I have noticed is how quiet it is. It is almost silent, unless you're up very close to it. My other machine sounds like a factory in...
