The top 3 guys who make over 1 million a year at my firm...

Of course prop firms owners operate out of self interest. It's not a charity. If a prop firm or basically any business can get its clients to sign a silly deal where the clients take all the risk, do all the work, and put up the money - then yes, they'll probably try to take advantage of that...

The top 3 guys who make over 1 million a year at my firm...

Sommi, you sound legit to me. Don't know why people are giving you so much flack. Everyone around here is super skeptical and there are just a bunch of haters here, too. Keep posting. Morons here think that all traders need to be hyper methodical and completely quantitative at all times in...

greenspan says stocks not in a bubble, hmmm

Record debt, record number of people of people homeless and collecting food stamps for survival. No decent paying jobs, if any at all. Meanwhile: AMZN - $386 NTFLX - $362 GOOG - $1063 And two of these three companies don't even make a fucking profit. What bubble?

    Q4 2013: A Market Inflection Point

I lost a lot of money. Seriously. Not on paper, not internet keyboard BS. Real money. I lost a lot of it. I have a few positions left that will be worthless in a couple months, they pretty much already are. I was totally wrong. I'm going to pay the price for it, and also have not been able to...

Another computer driven hedge fund closes

If we have Harvard grads in the Country working at McDonalds for minimum wage do you think the solution is that they need to be smarter and work harder to find a good job, or do you think maybe the fault and the solution doesn't lie with them? OK, I'm outta ET for a while. Too much BS on here.

Another computer driven hedge fund closes

Nope. That obviously never helps, but it's not the real reason. More players have left the space in the last five years than ever before and it's still not profitable so we have a controlled environment to clearly observe and ascertain that that cannot be the reason.

Another computer driven hedge fund closes

Great, but now change the word "CTA" with "all trading", and replace the word "futures" with "any". Then the picture becomes perfectly clear.

    Q4 2013: A Market Inflection Point

Hmmph. When I first posted Sunday I sounded like a madman. Everything I said came true. Only events are happening even much faster than I thought. I hope some of you used today as an AMAZING opportunity to get short and buy volatility and didn't "buy the dip". Next steps, as I see...

Lets say we really default past the 17th. how does this impact joe six pack?

No, there won't be a default. Tiny, tiny chance. You know what there will be and already is? A total and complete erosion of trust.

Lets say we really default past the 17th. how does this impact joe six pack?

I have a strange and indirect answer. It's psychological so therefore a little abstract and may sound like BS, but I think there's an element or a lot of truth in it. I think Joe six pack (which made me lol very hard btw) WANTS the default to happen. In a recent poll over 50% of Americans...

    Q4 2013: A Market Inflection Point

I'd always rather make money than be right. I'm willing to change my mind on a dime almost always, except in the event when I have a super strong conviction on a trade. In that case, I'm willing to ride it out even if it gets a little bumpy. Some of my positions now are illiquid and cannot...

Disgraceful. Karma may be about to smack him in the face since the SEC obviously won't.

Shorted AAPL @ 490.50. Last individual stock I give you. This ain't no day trade though. I'm in it for weeks/months. I'll get out around 425. Short more if it rallies on buyback news. Top brand in the world? Story over and dead. $50 iphones. Hehe. Stick a fork in this pig. Its best days...

    Q4 2013: A Market Inflection Point

Now, let's throw in the biggest bastard of the bunch. All those stupid little aholes who are going to be buying every dip like right now for the next few days/weeks. Gonna be a watershed moment when everyone figures out there is going to be no quick bounce back this time, just more and more...

    Q4 2013: A Market Inflection Point

There will be no deal within at least the next few days. Boehner said as much. I'm shorting if/when they make a deal, which is nowhere near a sure thing anymore. Also, if it happens you know it will be an 11th hour thing, so still have 10 days or so of uncertainty :)
