Too early to judge Mayer, indeed.
But judging from the past performance of Yahoo's board, I wouldn't be optimistic.
First, the board obviously don't know what to do or where to go, let alone choosing the right person to lead.
Second, I bet the board must have the mentality of "because...
Found ZH posted an radio interview with the......legendary(?).....Turd Ferguson, about Gold/Silver and of course, Da End Game:

Does anybody know if IB would route option orders to CBOE's opening rotation or keep them until open?
Obviously IB does not provide market data for the opening session(before opening at 8:30 Central Time). But I'm just wondering if orders placed before that time is routed or kept til open...
I actually thought of that. Do you know if IB would route orders to the open auction or keep them until open? (I know the obvious thing is to ask IB, but still, in case someone already has the answer...)
I doubt if I should feel pessimistic with that chart. First, it shows that for most of the time, platinum is way higher than gold price. The fact that it deeps below gold during the early 80's is probably because of the reduction in industrial use(notoriously in catalytic converters) during...
One significant thing to note, however, is that there's no option for the physical ETN's. So hedging becomes challenging.
Are you saying that there's no need to keep paper-to-paper(i.e PTM vs. GLD) or physical-to-physical (PPLT vs. PHYS) pairings? Well, I can't think of the pro's and con's at...
I'm toying with such idea to trade the collapse of gold price with respect to platinum.
From this picture it seems historically gold price cannot exceed platinum for long:

I am interested in VXX and VXZ pair trade, as described here
And I am exploring to do the similar with futures, which of course comes with higher leverage.
How about try using VIX future price as underlying rather than VIX index value?
FWIW, VIX futures are less volatile than VIX itself and reflects more on market's projection of what VIX will be come expiration day.
Zerohedge just posted the following:

Would you trade the reversal?
Below is a chart for platinum price - gold price.
As seen, 0 seems to be multi year bottom. In fairness, why would anybody trade the same amount of platinum for gold?

Hi,
Does anybody here trade VIX futures regularly?
If you do, I have a few questions for you:
- do you use them as hedges (against ES, or VIX options)?
- do you short far month contracts at calm days(ie. gain from the steep contango)?
There's no event outbreaks yet, how can you call it excessive fear?
Shorting vol when there's only concerns are very risky. Concerns don't go away easily without facts settled. So shorting vol now means you're betting against the event. How informed are you regarding the event?
Shorting vol...
Hi all, i'm new to this forum. Until recently I've been working at a market maker in derivatives. I've just settled in SF and am currently trading from home. I'm interested in joining one of these prop trading firms in the city/area.
However, coming from an environment where automated...
