question about bond trade commission policy?

when acting as principal, the broker/dealer will get the bond, say for 900 and sell to you at 950. The 50 is the markup If you sell your bond to them, they can sell it in the market, for 950, but quote you 900. That is the mark-down = 50.00 There is no set # how much they will mark up or...

    Bonds, Haircuts and Margin

I know that in a retail account if you buy a T-Bill instead of cash, the clearing firm treats it as 90 - 95% as colleteral for intraday positions on equity. Does anyone know if you can use AAA corp bonds for this? What is the haircut on those? Thanks.

Are settlement rules different for daytraders?

I don't think that any broker will charge interest on day trading use of margin. if you have 10k in your account and decide to buy 2k worth of XXX then you are not using margin. if you decide to short XXX then you are.

    Brut billable

Brut Billable apply even on ETFs - but if you route to the DOT. Looks like you haven't so you shouldn't be charged. NASDAQ dropped a ball on this - many people got hit with stupid billable charges - because NQ got hit with them from NYSE. oh well. (my hit was 4 bucks!!!)

Help!! Need new Direct Access Broker!!

I also agree. When you trade, you need to use experts for their expert stuff. For filters I use Wisper For other filters I use TradeIdeas For research - Revere News I don't know. I don't think these things you should look for in a broker.

    TradeStation 2 Tradebolt

After many attempts learning C++ and other languages to build a black box system, I have decided to use TradeStation. I have built a few strategies that actually work (woo-hoo) but I hate TradeStation executions (I am spoiled). (+ I spoke with a few people who swear that TS was very...

    Anybody try these guys?

I am not sure what are the ECN fees on the AMEX, I don't trade it. But ECN fees and ECN rebates (NASDAQ) are extra. The most ECN fee for AMEX is 0.001 - but again, I am not sure abot that. so 10k @0.001 = 10 bucks + SEC fee (on the sells) + Trading Activity fee (on the sells) + ECN (if you use...
