True, but yesterday the options were priced like earnings would happen on 1/26. This morning all of that price premium was gone. It happened too suddenly.

Thanks newwurldmn. I didn't realize that 1/26 wasn't confirmed. The price of these options seems to be telling us that 1/26 won't be the earnings release date. Thats the only explanation that makes sense to me. Someone must know what the date will be, even though Amazon hasn't released it yet...

Correct. These options should expire the day after earnings are reported.

If amazon moved their earnings date to after these options expire, that would make sense. That would affect only this chain. I don't see any news about Amazon moving their date though.

Surgo, are you saying its normal for one expiration date to go down significantly in price, while all other expiration dates go up in price? I understand the basics of options pricing. I just don't understand why this scenario is happening.

I'm a trader who is just starting out and I'm looking for a prop firm in Arizona. I've seen firms that want 5$ or 10$ grand to start trading with them, but I thought a prop firm gave you the capital and took a percentage of the gains? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
