    Airline stocks

So, where are the conspiracy theorists? Was the decline in airline stocks over the last several days related to this morning's events?

Are there any plans to scrap the rule, or is it going to be there for a long long time?

Does the PDT rule still exist?

I remember in September 2001 when that rule was passed, disallowing daytrading in accounts with less than $25,000. Is this rule still in effect? Are there any plans to scrap the rule, or is it going to be there for a long long time?

Tired of unavailable shorts at IB

I look forward to that news. IB has performed well, outside of this issue, in my opinion. But it never ceases to amaze me that the day after I short a few shares of something, I wake up to find that IB no longer has any shares available. This has happened 9 times in 2004 alone. What's more...

Tired of unavailable shorts at IB

I'm tired of unavailable stocks at IB. There are less than 100 UPC 11830 stocks on the nasdaq, but IB has no availability in more than 500 stocks. Half of the time IB doesn't have shares available in the companies that interest me. Outside of this one issue, I'm happy with IB. Are there any...

The Real Estate Market in Florida

Normally I would agree that this thread is like every other real estate bash I've seen on ET, but the difference here is that I've been immersed in Real Estate in almost every community from N. Tampa to Alabama (along the coast)..... I can only share what I've seen, which is that there's a...

The Real Estate Market in Florida

I think it's telling, although not scientific, that absolutely EVERY single broker, of the 200 I've been around in the last 5 weeks, when asked about potential declining prices in his specific market, has told me: "That may be true in other markets, but our market is unique because......"...

The Real Estate Market in Florida

I am looking for a house in the 250K range along the coast of Florida between Tampa and Pensacola. Most everyone I've been talking with has one or many real estate ventures on the side (as a part time hobby), that they bought only a couple years ago and are looking to flip for 50-100%...

The Real Estate Market in Florida

Values of single home properties have increased drastically in coastal areas of Florida in the last 24 months where there is ZERO intrinsic value, simply because more people could afford to buy homes. But supply along the Florida Coastline FAR OUTWEIGHS demand now. There are significantly...

The Real Estate Market in Florida

I've spent the last 5 weeks looking at homes along the Florida Coast from Tampa to Pensacola. I have walked-through probably 300+ homes in that time, and talked to probably 200 different real estate brokers. I've spent time looking at the rental market in each of the larger areas along the...

FLOAT: Where is it, what is it exactly?

Any shares that aren't RESTRICTED from being traded are included in the float (if an insider registers (Form 144)) his shares to be sold in some future period, than those shares become part of the float.... Is this correct?

FLOAT: Where is it, what is it exactly?

Company X has 8.27M shares outstanding: 1.55M owned by institutions (lionshares.com) 2.13M owned directors/officers/insiders (SEC Filing 14A) 8.27M - 1.55M - 2.13M = 4.59M Question #1: Where are these other 4.59M shares? (who holds them, are they owned by someone or just 'stored'...
