Poll Next Week Bias: A Crash Would Be Nice

Being contrarian, the more "bearish" sentiment, the more buying opportunity that is. The Smart Money might be making their moves after they started dumping stocks when Dow and TSX was at their recent peaks in late April. A lot of stocks are making lower lows with relatively normal to small...

Poll Next Week Bias: A Crash Would Be Nice

Quite a few of stocks are hitting 38% fibo retracements. Some stocks are already hitting 50% retracements. For solid dividend paying stocks (for long-term holds), I am aiming at 50% retracements if the price breaks 38% next week. The market has been very volatile for the last two...

Poll Next Week Bias: A Crash Would Be Nice

Dow is almost as low as May 25's lowest price. Friday's sell-off seems quite bearish. I think it really depends on the volume. I didn't follow every single stock, so I can't make that judgment. Perhaps a double bottom reversal??? Next week is going to be quite critical.

Cramer - Canada = investing hot spot

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100526/business/cities_quality_living Mercer report pointed out that Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa are ranked among the world's top 25 most livable city. I guess.. that somehow contrinbuted to housing cost? LOL

Cramer - Canada = investing hot spot

The challenge with Canadian real estate is that there are only so few major metropolitan cities. Toronto, being the largest city of Canada, attracts residents left, right and over-seas! Housing price is somewhat a direct relationshp of supply and demand, as jobs are concentrated in the major...

And we need a global "watch-dog" and "Uncle Sam" for Canadian banks? :p

Get right to the source. Bingo! I tend not to trust news articles. They are often written to provoke emotions (such as anger, worriesome etc).

Cramer - Canada = investing hot spot

*LOL* In hindsight, I should have invested more in commodities during Feb-Mar of 2009. The commodity market shot up so fast! This is the equation I follow: CRUDE OIL PRICE (UP) = US DOLLARS (DOWN) CRUDE OIL PRICE (UP) = CA DOLLARS (UP) EMERGING MARKET GROWTH (UP) = CA DOLLARS (UP)

Weekly Poll: No Bias For Next Week, But Mother-in-law Tells Me To Sell

I am hoping it's bearish. I want to pick up some good dividend paying stocks as part of my core portfolio. The yield looks better when the prices are down!! I hope the pull-back on Friday is just a break for buyers seeking discounts. I don't want small dscounts.. I want BOGO!

Friday "Hot potato" sell off routine.

Darn.. the small late buying rally is annoying! I hope this doesn't signal a reversal of a down trend. I was expecting to see a sell-off in late market; but I guess buyers are enticed to come in thinking that the sell-off has temporarily stopped. Most stocks are discounted 5-15% since the...

Harper, ministers protest global bank tax

Are you also from Canada? I live in Alberta here. My biggest concern is "who gets to spend that pot of money"? Our banks probably don't need them any time soon, and some banks do need them badly. I am so sick of a "global scale tax system". Not like we don't pay enough taxes! I...

Leave stop loss and target or exit early?

It depends on what your goals are. I can't speak for American tax system, but here in Canada, if you want capital "loss" then you can't buy back the same security until 30 days later. This means that if I am longing a stock, I would set a wider stop-loss (at key support level). If I get...

    Dow to gold ratio

And when that happens, make sure you are not holding US dollars.

Cramer - Canada = investing hot spot

At least there are jobs. Just look at the unemployment rate in some of the European countries. Debt to income ratio is high because credit is CHEAP, and many are taking advantage of the cheap credit. Luckily the government has finally stricken the mortgage rules. This will help slow down...

    Dow to gold ratio

If the history repeats, there is ONLY two possibilities. Either gold goes up to 10K or DOW drops to 12K. I think if 1:1 ratio is going to happen, it would be meeting in the middle of the road. I still believe that 5000K gold is achievable in my life time. And we have witnessed how DOW...

Harper, ministers protest global bank tax

It's so sick to see how other countries want to impose more taxes. Tax is like a "bailed-out" pot of money. Who gets to spend that pot? Why should we pay more for other country's stupid decisions? The Europeans can form their tax-pot since their government LOVES taxes, and their banks have...

What would you like to see in Financial Reform?

There is tight money laundering law here. But really.. the law can only prevent the "small crimes". The real money launders are WAY smarter than that. This is the same with compliance on selling mutual funds. They keep creating pointless and time-consuming procedures to make sure the...

What would you like to see in Financial Reform?

In Canada, unless a person is a criminal or presents false IDs, it is against the LAW to deny a savings account. I used to work in the bank, and believe me, I wish I could deny some of these clients (or crack heads). This is a generic trend (I emphasis generic). People with bad credits...
