IQ Feed unreliable, any suggestion to replace it?

The statement "they are not willing to fix it" isn't accurate. There is an issue during extremely active market conditions that is affecting users who watch and unwatch symbols over and over as opposed to setting a watchlist and processing the data off the stream. Its appears to be affecting a...

ActiveTick vs. IQFeed vs. IB (TOFTT)

Yes, Monday's are usually a bit backed up due to the higher level of compliance validation we must do as a professional market data company. All registrations/exchange agreements are reviewed and coming out of a weekend we normally have a large number of new customer registrations queued up...

ActiveTick vs. IQFeed vs. IB (TOFTT)

10 minutes behind the market = you have the exchange mandated delay. Contact your sales rep or our customer support via our 800# and we will check that we have the proper exchange agreements so we can enable the real time data for you. BTW: You can verify the delay by right clicking the...

ActiveTick vs. IQFeed vs. IB (TOFTT)

The max symbol limit in IQFeed is 1800 symbols. Thus, you are right, you won't be able to watch 3000. 1800 of the most active symbols won't come anywhere near 1GB.

ActiveTick vs. IQFeed vs. IB (TOFTT)

The breadth indicators shouldn't impact speed (or cause you to drop ticks) in any way (unless data updating once per second is clogging your lines/processing). The process where we calculate the stats is separate and thus doesn't impact the feed in any way. BTW: Myself and many of our...

ActiveTick vs. IQFeed vs. IB (TOFTT)

Some Corrections: You can watch up to 1800 symbols simultaneously on IQFeed and we don't offer anything that updates in 1 second intervals (other than if you request 1 second bar data). The data is updated tick by tick. You may be referring to timestamp resolution, which is 1 second...

    IB Quote Boosters

Every update/message from IQFeed includes the ticker symbol for that update. There shouldn't be anything to sort out. It may be more difficult to process IQFeed data due to the fact that you are getting every tick, so you will be processing exponentially more data.

    IB Quote Boosters

Just a quick bit of additional information. We have options to get you up to 1800 symbols and the cost would only be $155 per month plus exchange fees. Our sales group can get you information and a trial on this package if you need more than 100 symbols.

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

just to clarify, the patch isn't ours. We found it online and are providing a link to it for our users as it appears to correct the backfill issue.

QuoteTracker To Be Finished End of 2011

While our latest IQFeed release "broke" support for some 3rd party apps that aren't being updated to support our latest and greatest, we do have a workaround for QuoteTracker users. Just contact our support group and we can get it working with IQFeed. With this patch, there is no reason for QT...

Anyone using eSignal Market Data API?

Just to clarify, we do have users running IQFeed on Linux under WINE without issue. Some are running as many as 1800 symbols so performance doesn't appear to be an issue.

    IQ feed

I invite anyone who is having issues with IQFeed to contact me directly so I can have one of our techs schedule a telephone call to work through the issues. If there is a problem, we need details and want to get to the bottom of it. A telephone call is usually more efficient than other means...

    IQ Feed Latency

Hi folks, I thought I would chime in to clarify a few points. Both our NxCore and IQFeed data services are used by traders with stringent requirements. While IQFeed is less expensive, that doesn't mean it is of cheap quality. We purposely keep our marketing to a minimum and do everything we...

Data feed with RT and historical options data?

It would be the same criteria as other symbols. Bid and Ask price at the time of the trade going back 120 calendar days. Minute data doesn't include quote info (it is minute bars of trade data). On IQFeed, we don't provide historical NBBO data as it is available on our NxCore service.

Data feed with RT and historical options data?

We do have historical data on expired equity options within the DTN IQFeed service. Should be able to go back at least a year for minute data.

I am being SQUEEZED!!!! by the ES

You don't need a custom TICK if you only want to look at the TICK for 500 large cap stocks. You already have access to symbol JT6T.Z which is the S&P 500 NET TICK. There is also JTRT.Z which is the Russell 2000 TICK or JT5T.Z which is the Nasdaq 100 TICK. The full list is available at...

    CME Fee Waiver

According to the person I talked with at IB, the API can't tell if the account is live vs. a demo account. Even demo accounts with paper money will show that it is "funded" so we can't utlize that information. If someone knows otherwise (I haven't look at the API directly) we will look further...

    CME Fee Waiver

You are correct. We explored doing this, but IB confirmed that their API doesn't have a way to know that a user has a funded trading account. Just connecting to the API and Logging in wouldn't satisfy the exchange rules. Thus, we would have to build a tool that you would have to use to...

    CME Fee Waiver

In my discussions with IB staff, I have offered to work with them to provide any automation / efficiencies they would need. We have offered to write to their API's in order to authenticate that the users have a funded trading account (one of the exchange's requirements). Unfortunately, I was...

Interactive Brokers and IQFeed/CME Fee Waiver

Scott is correct. Interactive Brokers has chosen not to support this for their users. I have personally had numerous conversations with them. The best thing you can do is continue to contact IB and hopefully they will end up doing what is best for their customers. In the mean time, I would...
