Has the Fed been buying stocks ?

I can't explain the continued rally in stocks since March. It makes sense to me now, the Fed has probably been out there buying stocks all along. Who else would be buying otherwise besides hedge funds. Hedgies are huge nowadays but they would be out by now, and they are according to many...

I think it's 30% YTD. To your comments, it can be said of any system I guess. Pretty much all the systems I look at look terrific on backtested results, and for a while when live, then usually performance deteriorates . Just when the system appears to have drawn a lot of interest from investors.

    Ron Paul Economics

When you buy insurance, you do research the firm's financial position right ? Why is it that a different standard applies to sophisticated investment bankers who should have figured what AIG was doing and the possible outcome in case of a credit crunch ?

    Ron Paul Economics

This is how I understood fractional reserves as well. No idea why he said $190 go to the bank for each $100 , with Liesman aquiescing. Maybe he meant $90. Anyway Paul often sounds like an out of touch nerd, but I like his ideas even though I don't know everything about his views and how they...

I was just curious about them. I have heard of them a few years ago and always thought it was too good to be true . But I didn't know they had an investment arm. Doing some research, preliminary findings and intuition tell me that the stellar results from the hypothetical trades and backtesting...

I disconnected the extra drive thus using only the 4 molex connectors provided, connected as they should be. I still get the same alert message. Now I contacted the manufacturer's support and here is their answer in broken english: Starting from ATX 2,01 the -5V rail is no longer...

    Ron Paul Economics

The man was on CNBC this am and Liesman was out to get him. I remember hearing him saying that Ron Paul economics left a lot to be desired. So who is right ? Are Ron Paul idea's realistic ? btw during the interview, while bashing fractional reserve lending, he said when you lend $100 to a...

How about the timeliness of his calls ? That's what matters most to me, I know he's been right on the money in the past year or so but I didn't follow him as closely in the past . If a guru tells me to buy stocks now because it will keep going up I may believe him but what tells me there won't...

WANTED Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques by Steve Nison

these books are nice to look at but not worth much as far as actually making $$$ is concerned. You only need to know the very basics of candlestick and there is a cheaper book out there on the subject.

Goldman loses money on just one trading day in Q3.

"Best and brightest" can only be part of the explanation behind those results. LTCM also had the best and brightest. There are best and brightest people losing money in trading every day. But Goldman never loses. Why is that ?
