Will stocks ever go down again?

Just interested to see how sentiment is shaping up. Yes Mr. Bernanke you're allowed to vote here too.

    Japan Spirals into Bankruptcy?

It seems to me that the most bang for your buck should Japan's fiscal conditions continue to deteriortate would be put options on JGBs, although I'm having a hard time finding anywhere where it would be possible (as a retail investor) to put on this trade. Has anyone come across brokers that...

What is wrong with hyper inflation?

Google the term if you must. Hyperinflation devestates the middle and lower classes. The wealthy are traditionally fine if not better off because they own the assets. And HYPERinflation refers to 3000% over a matter of months, rather than 30 years so it is much more dramatic than anything you've...

The easiest trade in the world (that I think is wrong but seems to work anyway)

$1705 gold....wonder how much gold stocks will be DOWN tomorrow. Or will they finally, finally, finally become the leveraged play that they should be?

The easiest trade in the world (that I think is wrong but seems to work anyway)

And there it is again today. GLD down about 0.5% and GDX down 5-6%. Are you guys on this trade yet???

The easiest trade in the world (that I think is wrong but seems to work anyway)

Another week of easy money. Gold breaking out to new highs and the GDX gold share index down about 9 %. How easy is this trade? Let 'em rally a bit and then short 'em. Or just go long GLD/short GDX. AEM 52 week lows. NEM, GG, ABX getting killed after their earnings reports. Simple....almost too...

The easiest trade in the world (that I think is wrong but seems to work anyway)

Easy money today. Gold barely down, gold stocks crushed. This trade will blow up some day but free money for now thanks to the market's stupidity.

The easiest trade in the world (that I think is wrong but seems to work anyway)

Okay here it is: I've been a gold/silver bull as a long term thesis for years. I've chosen to play this through the gold stocks because as we all know, they have the leverage to rising prices, right, right? Well, f3ck that. It hasn't worked. Sure some of the small names have been great but then...

Why are the futures selling off right now?

Doesn't the fact that it is cheaper to buy right now rather than find and produce mean that it is in fact a cheap asset??? You've contradicted yourself here.

    I've been robbed

I agree. Go to the media. They love stories of the "little guy" getting screwed. As well they should. Why should we bail out the computer programs (which were obviously the only ones selling down there)? It's their program that screwed up, they should be forced to pay the consequences.

Bets on the Euro, Place your bets.

Okay so the euro "rally" lasted a few minutes. I'd call this very bearish action

Bets on the Euro, Place your bets.

Should be an interesting day for the euro after the Greek "bailout". If the euro cannot sustain solid gains over the next couple days than a real death spiral of selling could occur and contagion spreading to other countries. Any thoughts?

Bets on the Euro, Place your bets.

The kind of bearishness indicated by this poll often marks bottoms.....just saying

    finally proof of ManIpUlation.

still on the fence about metals manipulation but it was interesting to note that gold and silver both fell sharply starting at exactly 130 ET when the physical (sort of) comex market closed and the electronic cash market started. Metals traders that believe in manipulation often state that these...

    Abx, Gg, Aem, Kgc, Nem

The major gold stocks. Will they ever keep up with the price of gold? Most are at levels seen 3-7 years ago despite a relentless rise in the price of gold. Does anyone see these stocks ever rallying? Surely there must be some value here despite your predictions going forward for the price of...

    gdx is not keepin up

I suppose I should trade them more with their volatility. I consider them a long term hold (I believe it is the only primary bull market left) and trade everything else. Needless to say while some of the smaller golds have been fantastic, the gdx and larger gold names have been extremely...

    gdx is not keepin up

GDX still lagging badly. Any thoughts on this? Is it a sign that the current price of gold is not sustainable? Is this like when Oil was 147 and the oil stocks weren't keeping up? I tend to think that the GDX will catch up but am interested in others thoughts.

Actual interview brainteaser at a top flight shop

Almost had it.............missed the 100 (tails, heads, heads) scenario Bet 50 on flip 1. If heads. Bet 50 on flip 2. If tails. Bet 25 on flip 2. if 00- you now have 200...make NO more bets, you've already doubled if you win the game. if 10-you now have 75 if 11-you now have 25 if...

Are you a Dollar bull or bear for the next few months?

Note the significance of the 78.40 level on the DXY again with the close today. The weekly inverted head and shoulders pattern on gold is still valid heading into the most seasonally bullish period. A firm weekly close tomorrow would suggest an imminent breakout over $1000. Look for a rotation...
