High Speed Trading Unfair To Retail Traders

This is why less and less retail traders are making money. At this rate, no one will be able to make a living trading on their own. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/24/business/24trading.html?_r=1&hp

How can one ride the coattails of Goldman-Sachs

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2009/jun/21/goldman-sachs-bonus-payments As you can see, they always make money and it a lot of it comes from their trading desk. My question is, how can we follow their trading methods? Please refrain from conspiracy theories or anti-semitism. If...

Number of times price hits resistance/support then breaks

From what I found, in my very simple number crunching, this seems to be true on average.

Number of times price hits resistance/support then breaks

Thanks for a humorous reply rather than the snarky sarcastic ones that those who don't have fun at this like to give. And your reply makes a valid point. No sure bets in this game, but wanted some feedback. I look at the third test as critical, but wanted to see if other people crunched...

Number of times price hits resistance/support then breaks

After that resistance or support is set by being hit twice and reversing. As a closing number. For example: SPY closes at 930 twice, then you expect it to touch that number three or four more times (on average before breaking? Meaning end of day numbers. Thanks for the input.

Number of times price hits resistance/support then breaks

I don't disagree with anything being said, but I was still hoping to see some answers. I have an average number. It's not that hard to calculate using some simple parameters. Price action works best with understanding usual behavior. If anyone wants to do a little math, here are the...

Number of times price hits resistance/support then breaks

Using the end of day price for the SPY, has anyone come up with the average number of times the price hits either support of resistance before it breaks through?

    The Beginning of the Collapse

Cjones, Agreed. This wasn't a partisan posting. Clinton and co. played their roles. I just can't believe anyone would listen to those on any side of the aisle that are still spouting failed policies. The whole system needs to be fixed before we all end up in the poor house.

    The Beginning of the Collapse

This is when it started. All those who still spout the talking points from the last thirty years need to be kept as far away from the halls of power as possible. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/01/opinion/01krugman.html?em

    TraderHouse, Andy Shearman, Moneymap

I was wondering why there weren't any reviews saying the presentation was a sale's pitch! Their way of reeling people in (including me) is a bit dishonest IMHO. Especially if they're deleting reviews. Like I said, I liked their system, but the price and on-going fees are ridiculous. Do...

America Summed Up In One Cartoon

Excellent post. Once again, even with all the spamming and bigotry and nonsense on this site, there is always something of value. Insight into trading, insight into the economy, or even just a good laugh. This laugh also included insight!

    TraderHouse, Andy Shearman, Moneymap

I basically agree with you. Like I said, I like the trader and it would be more than a couple of days. BUT I'd rather go your route and find a mentor. Andy suggestions? I live in L.A. and don't want to train over the Internet. BTW, it took me forever to find someone who would mentor me...

    TraderHouse, Andy Shearman, Moneymap

Thanks for the information. The way it works here is you get the software and on-site training. I like the trainer and the trading room, but the price seemed steep. And though I could see the value as they're offering a lot of on-site training, I don't like the cost of the data feed, which...

    TraderHouse, Andy Shearman, Moneymap

Anyone here take their course or use the Moneymap? I'd like to get some feedback. Preferably about the Malibu location, but would also appreciate feedback (South Beach location or on the Moneymap systems they're using.)

Starting a Anekdoten Holy Grail Chat, Anyone Interested?

Susana, You need to stop this. Let the Anek legend live on. Everytime you post to defend his reputation it adds more doubt to the belief that he actually trades and IS a legend. I've stated before that regardless of what the truth is, the guy posted useful information on this forum and...

Starting a Anekdoten Holy Grail Chat, Anyone Interested?

AHGChat, What do you think of priceaction.net? I'm looking it over now. Seems kind of thin, but I guess it's just getting off the ground.

    Rick Santelli is the MAN

Excellent, Landis. The entire idea is to price houses. Find the bottom. Then all the derivatives based on those prices can be priced. Losses can be calculated and other related assets priced. I still think our system is broken, though, and all these crazies here who think that by letting...

    Rick Santelli is the MAN

This doesn't apply to those of you on both sides of the political spectrum who have well-thoughtout response. But to those of you who carry old prejudices and who are grinding old political axes, get up and look around you. For God's sake, you're traders. You're supposed to understand...

    Rick Santelli is the MAN

Maybe, I was harsh about your first post. I see we agree on some things! I just don't think we're socialist yet. I mean from where I sit, it's still every man for himself in terms of health, job security, retirement and housing. But I agree with you that our form of capitalism has...
