The question is: why is my profit left over in Yen in the first place? The reality is that IB charges commissions for trading USDJPY, commission for changing Yen to dollars plus commission for trading on IDEAL.

Is it normal for markets to close from 17:00-17:15 est? Or is this something only IB does? Today, I was up 40 pips at 17:00 and all my quotes dissappeared. The quotes came back at 17:15 and I was -10 pips.

Either I am just lacking sleep or some weird shit happened today with IB. I was in a long position in EUR.USD and the current bid was around 1.4082 . I set a limit offer for 1.4097, but for some reason my position got closed exactly at 1.4082 . Am I just tripping or did I get fked over?

IMO the only way an automated system will win, is if you do the coding yourself. Whichever strategy a piece of software provides, is what just about everyone else is using.

Ive always traded market orders for stocks and eminis. My program searches for breakouts and if I use a limit order, the order never gets filled. Ive tried different algorithms to fill using limits, but market orders seemed to work best.

Ok. So my lesson wasnt learned. Fucking piece of shit Ninjatrader sent my order to ideal again and I lost another 40 pips.

My lesson was well learned and Im glad that I didnt lose more. I just hope my Ninjatrader is configured correctly now and I wont have any more technical difficulties.
