    Feedback on Futures/FX trading build with 4K 40" monitor (i5 6600K, 32gb RAM, 256gb M.2 SSD)

So I've put together a 6-core build using the 5820K processor, after confirming that Ninjatrader 8 is multicore - multithread in live charts as well as backtesting / optimization. Remaining components are very similar. I've changed the case (looks nicer & quieter?) and was considering beefing...

    Feedback on Futures/FX trading build with 4K 40" monitor (i5 6600K, 32gb RAM, 256gb M.2 SSD)

Thanks for your comments DOM. I've priced up a 6-core 5820K processor with similar components, maybe you can give me your comments. Ninjatrader 8 is multicore-multithread on the live charts as well, in addition to the backtesting / optimization therefore a 6-core computer will probably be...

    Feedback on Futures/FX trading build with 4K 40" monitor (i5 6600K, 32gb RAM, 256gb M.2 SSD)

3x 32" pivoted ... hmmm :) I agree it would be overkill. But so much screen real-estate!! Must resist.... Actually, I am already running Dell's 3415w and it's a great monitor. Combined with the Philips will be more than sufficient I think.

I'll check out for those frequency-biased screws on pcpartpicker then. Do they come in red? :) Ninjatrader 8 is a no-go for me at the moment, as I had conflicts between IQFeed and TWS /IB (data would stop refreshing). Didnt want to take any chances so I went back to NT7. I am sure they'll sort...

    Feedback on Futures/FX trading build with 4K 40" monitor (i5 6600K, 32gb RAM, 256gb M.2 SSD)

The details of the build are straight out of my list on the parts builder website. I guess I should have taken the thermal paste out. http://pcpartpicker.com Not sure if Ninjatrader 8 (still in beta) supports hyperthreading? The v.7 which I currently use probably does not. The i7 is a faster...

    Feedback on Futures/FX trading build with 4K 40" monitor (i5 6600K, 32gb RAM, 256gb M.2 SSD)

Hey all! I'm building a new PC for futures and FX trading and would like your opinion on the parts list below. The computer will be dedicated to running my broker platform connected to Ninjatrader. I will be running up to 20 charts with intraday data, including tick data and some custom...

    Unregulated Forex Becomes Criminal Offence

Wallace, As far as I know, all brokers registered in Cyprus (Cyprus Investment Firms in local lingo) are required to participate in the Investors Compensation Fund setup by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CYSEC). This includes all FX brokers registered as Cyprus Investment...

    forex charting software

Just open a demo account with Metatrader.. metaquotes.net Interface is very similar to Metastock, you can program your own indicators and there's a good support base of members in various forums. Plus you don't need to go through the hassle of interfacing an external data feed with a...

    Pete's Place

Pete, Do you know if there's anything similar but not limited to IB? I would like to use it for Forex and other markets if possible. Basically a program where you input something, and it time-stamps it for later study. Thanks again, Loukas

    Money Management

Lindq, you are right. I was only just trying to add some helpful info to the conversation. I edited the original post, leaving only what's necessary. Not because I'm worried for a lawsuit, but rather out of respect for a writer and trader (LBR) I greatly admire. Loukas

    Money Management

By the way, here's an interesting excerpt from the book "Street Smarts" by Linda Raschke. It basically says that a very good indication of what makes a trader succesful, is how soon they recover from their worse drawdown. Which definately has to do with money management, and risking a small...

    Money Management

For the people risking below 1%, what kind of % profit targets do you have per month / year? How do you break it down on a per trade basis? Say for example on a 100000 account.. Thanks, Loukas

Any great Forex books to introduce?

The books by Cornelius Luca seem quite informative. I've read "Trading in the Global Currency Markets", which I found good as an introductory book for the FX markets and trading. Loukas

Discipline - ideas to improve it

Great thread all! Thank you for sharing... Linda Raschke goes over the importance of logging everything into her notebooks in chapter 23 of the book Street Smarts. She says, and I quote: "The whole object of swing trading is to anticipate setups so that we are not in a reactive mode...

    daily expectations

Great post AMT4SWA! You explained my thinking exactly.. I agree with the previous posts as well, that, when planning each individual trade during the day, your main concern should be to execute your plan exactly and in a disciplined way. For me, this means 1) pre-trade analysis, 2) entry...
