Which financial company will go bankrupt next? Part VII

What do you guys think of a buy on HIG at $5, and F at about $1.50? (Long term holds)

    Hartford (hig)

Any of you guys thinking of buying hig for a six month - one year hold?? I'm thinking about buying at $5, and am sure its going to bounce around... I'm looking at a longer time horizon though.

The "it's impossible to lose strategy"?

That's right! I love the banks telling people all the FDIC garbage to get their $$$ in so they don't have to borrow at the fed funds rate. These folks typically think, "hey I'll make 4.3% this year with NO loss." NOT!!!!!!!!! At that rate and taxes, they are losing money.

Is there a forum on this board where real discussions take place?

Initially, I said "I'm not touching this one..." I don't make negative comments, and start stuff here. Good information can be found here if you know what to look for. I'll add, when I was a new broker working in a wirehouse, the comments that flew around in there were alot worse than...

    Cramer calls this a bottom...

LOL! And sadly, people still watch him, and actually do what he says. I've picked up clients pretty easily once I found out who their "Advisor" was. I have a client in her late 60's with 700m who was following the Cramer "strategies" on MARGIN. OUCH! She did 6.7% in...

When I looked at the Globex this morning, I thought a nuclear bomb was detonated

Yes, a scary chart, no question. I'm looking at dow futures, and last weeks charts bracing for Tuesday. Don't show that chart to anyone else (CNBC, etc.,:D )

    Making a living with a $30K account

I'm sure you're not meaning me with that reference. Again, 60m-100m/year income starting with 30m to trade is a pipe dream.

    Making a living with a $30K account

I agree with the above. Making 60-100m per year in income starting with 30m ain't happening. The problem is the objective: The income. Ain't happening. I'll gladly give 30m to a good trader who will generate 60-100m per year for me in income! LOL!! I don't even care how much leverage he/she...

    Making a living with a $30K account

That's absolutely correct! (I got to page 7, and didn't get a chance to read the other replies) Absolutely no way he's going to get 60-100m/year income from a baby sized 30m. Blows my mind that someone would even try with that expectation year, after year of 60-100m income with the 30m to...

    Fast Money is GARBAGE

Here's how you use CNBC: If you like to follow a certain group of Analysts, Traders, Asset Managers, I would suggest you find out if that person posts their speaking schedules (if they hold NASD and SEC Registrations like I do, they have to clear it in writing, or verbal approval at minimum...

    Fast Money is GARBAGE

Kinda odd, I guess... I like Kudlow (to a degree) Mostly, I don't get out of the office until well after 5:00 pm Eastern, so usually miss the show 4 of 5 days/week. I'll watch the first five minutes, and also see if the "guests" are going to be F.O.S or have good information. Usually it's...

    Fast Money is GARBAGE

The bald guy sure missed the "takeover" of FITB before Memorial Day with the "elevated" call volume. He said, "FITB is about to be bought, and you need in on this now." LOL!! Call volume may have been a little higher after his big spew, but that was for about a day... Well, well. FITB was $42.95...
