    IBKR: Internalization Trading Execution

Dear Client, We are writing to advise you of a change in how IBKR will handle certain orders to buy or sell stocks. Up until now, IBKR has always acted solely as the customer’s agent in executing all customer orders in exchange-traded products (except for fractional shares of stock), meaning...

Which metric is most important to you?

Got you. I imagine you calculate both for the same timeframe?

Which metric is most important to you?

I don't pay attention to broker-generated risk metrics really, but rely on my own spreadsheets instead (very simplistic stuff and old school). I have just been playing with IBKR's statements and produced something very exhaustive with PortfolioAnalyst, from inception to date: Reading about...

    IBKR's exposure fee

about 1% of assets per annum from what I understand. that's not insignificant and probably pays for their tail risk insurance. So I am not disputing it but just want to understand how much concentration in 1 equity triggers it.

    IBKR's exposure fee

One firm beats them all, again.

In financial services, the higher the profit margins the better the balance sheet.

One firm beats them all, again.

As we are heading into more financial turbulence, as reflected by the inverted yield curve, it comforts me that my money is with the safest (i.e. most profitable) custodian available to an armchair investor. source...

    Zero-coupon U.S. Treasury bonds

I am guessing those are exempt from Withholding Tax as they do not pay a coupon? And are they available on IBKR?

    How to hedge the USD?

I am a UK based investor and my spendings are 60%in GBP, 30% EUR and 10%CHF. My base currency at IBKR is USD and 100% of my liquid net worth is in US equity. I would like to remain invested exclusively in the US market and wonder what is the easiest or cheapest way to protect myself from a...

if i had 10 cents for every arb I've seen...

The best part of all this is that Muppet is under the impression that I am after him, when I am publicly defending his stance! Go figure.

Just drop it and move on if there is nothing for you to learn from him. Less confrontation on this forum is not a bad thing.

Dude, many people do capital structure arb trades of this sort. It is a well known strategy. Edit: I am talking about market caps greater than $500m of course.
