It sure is a big picture..or a broad view of things. One trouble that I have with the scenario of a double top thingy ..is that it would precede a very deep recession ..but we know that as long as Treasuries are selling in a predictable way..and money printing is paying for all of it ...

    Vix

It works well within the context of Intermarket Analysis- market relationships- Ive done a lot of charting-its a decent indicator- it helps in confirmation or reinforcing my opinion. The number itself doesn't mean much to me - I'm more of what some call "discretionary". The old saying "low ...

    Journal of a Novice-Level Speculator

I would be looking to enter with FXY puts with jan 2011 exp. , maybe a 100 strike. Gives a time cushion . But Natural Gas..not the companies as much as UNG and the like. This appears to me to be a decent point to consider a long if only for a technical bounce..maybe base to form as we...

If you get mostly losses, then you are a loser?

Not necessarily , but it certainly won't be my focus for the future..there are times when daytrading can reap fantastic rewards. When I reduce the frequency of my trades , they become winners more often. (especially true for daytrading)

    My Decade of Progress

I've done nearly 10 yrs also..it will be 10 in October. Self taught, surrounded by skeptics. The amount of time is incredible to most people, I'd be called a fanatic if they new. Suffered two heart attacks in the last three years , three angioplasties ...Futures can be quite the...

Experiencing periods of loss in your trading life can lead to useful experience and learning about yourself as well as the markets I have found.

    A Daytrader's Story

Replying to the first post in the thread. Sounds like you might even need conselling at this point. A loving wife ! You are very fortunate. Not sure if decent simulators were around in 2000, but a newbie should never start off day trading..he/she will do all sorts of nasty things to their...

I used to neglect individual stocks and trade YM, ES and NQ. It's tough to do..I find that tracking the big names in financials and commodities help..I like alcoa and JPM and I'd keep a DX chart up there too...intermarket analysis in general.
