Frosty's auto-trading bot goes live with REAL money

For my system that is currently in development, I am using limit orders to get into a position and market orders to get out of a position (because according to my rules, I need to get out no matter what).

    Newbie OJ question

This is probably one of the funniest things I have seen on another ET thread: Watch out for the Duke boys (Winthorpe and Mortimer) cornering the frozen OJ market!! Word on the street is they got the crop report early.

    homegrown trading software

My program is not completed yet, but I figured I would answer anyways. 0) More control than commercial apps since I control the code. Little tweaks will be easy with my program but may be more difficult with someone elses. Also, no commercial program does *exactly* what I want. 1 & 2) It...

NASD Seen Moving Toward Limiting Day Trading

Taking it to the next level

If you go full-time, make sure you don't over-trade. You seem to be doing pretty well with a small amount of trading. If you do go full-time, it does not mean you should trade more. If you do, you may actually do worse... Good luck.

Okay.. I have my System Complete

I would have to disagree with that. You are the LEAST important indicator your system uses. Without YOU, your system would probably work better. That is why a lot of people like mechanical trading. It replaces YOU with a computer.

    When professional

Don, can you please elaborate on this? Are you saying that an individual can day trade with less than $25k without worrying about the PDT rule if they are licensed? Which license would they need, Series 7? Thanks for your help.

IB TWS Users: When should I not use SMART Routing?

As I understand it, TWS's SMART routing feature is supposed to get you the best possible price that is available at all exchanges and ECN's. Can someone please explain: 1. When would someone not want to use SMART? If SMART will get you the best possible price, why would someone manually...
