    stock trading around the (24h)

fx markets are full of professionals and the commission is higher than intraday stocks in case of hifger than 10 leverage. I have no capital to trade fx less than 10 leveage. I have no edge to fight against banks. small stock markets with one or two liquid stock in each can be more prpfitable.

    Trading Lessons/Insights From Coin Flipping

About coin flipping. I use it to test simple trading system permissions performance vs to the random noise. E.g. Pivot support or resistance can be tested to know, how strong barriers are that. You buy et fix price (e.g. support+0.1 ATR(7), sell buyprice+/- ATR(7). compare this win/lost...

Do you consider money management an edge?

just think it over. no 100% win trading system exit. Trades are executed in x% success (win) rate. You need to adjust your trading position to your acrual trading win/loss rate to avoid burned out and maximised profit. Money management more important then trading rules! I think, trading...

Depend from the market and timeframe: 1. liquid market with hours our above time frame I use hard stop to protect my self from waiting too mutch to exit. 2. Scalping (less than 15 min time frame) I keep contol on hand with no hard stop to exit when I feel to whant. Continuous market...

thanks all your response. One of you said to take into account risk/reward. It is helped me a lot. I need to take this more seriously, because I usually stoped by pattern(broken support), not by profit/lost target. I traded to mechanicaly, even for scenarios when the pattern are to narrow...

Buy on support or into resistence and bo?

I tested pivot S/R on hourly and daily basis, and it is a bit safer to buy on S or sell on R, but the edge is very very small. Let's say you buy at a certain pivot level, an sell on +/- 50% retracement (which comes earlier you will sell) the next resistance. You wiil have ~52-55% chance to...

How do you determine what your edge is?

How to determine the edge? One option is to comparing your back test result to random buy/sell results. I found the buying at pivot support level and selling +/- 50% retracement from the buying has ~2-5% higher probability to win against the random buying.

I think BB is comprehensive indicator, because u can see the S/R,, volatility, price action in one shot. The BB curve give important signs for the dynamics of the price actions (running or slowing down) too. Problem is thet hard to implement it in a semi or full automated system. I...

Know how to program, don't know how to trade. Where do I begin?

avoid system pitfalls: -curve fitting, -lags on real trades, I think good systems considers: -trending or ranging the entire market -S/R levels -recent volatility -managing risk/reward ratio below 1. -impact of volume -confirming the system is profitable on min. 200 out- of sapmles data.

Know how to program, don't know how to trade. Where do I begin?

One of my skill is the programming (PHP, VB, JAVA) also. 1) I think you should get a good trading/testing SW (amibroker, metatrader, etc.). 2) Learn some TA (chart and bar patterns, indicators, support-resistance, moneymanagement, trailing stop, using different time frames). 3)...
