Question about getting a job in a Prop Shop Trading

Well, maybe after the 7 years come off. I know at our firm we simply asked have you "ever" in your life declared bankruptcy and if the answer was yes, we wished you luck. We just were not interested in that business. Plus it brought a LOT of regulatory scrutiny towards us. Our SRO had us...

Question about getting a job in a Prop Shop Trading

You cannot join a JBO with a bankruptcy.....period. End of story. No exceptions. So that eliminates Bright and a few others in the regulated world. In the non regulated world, well, caveat emptor. As for employee type firms, no way, this business is just too competitive. You guys really...

    Why is dbphoenix back?

That figures. I have nothing against vendors, just be transparent, say who you are and pay Baron the appropriate fees for advertising.

    The ACD Method

I should further add that in settings you can change the number of posts you view per page that actually reduces the total number of pages by like 70%. It makes it easier to read then having to keep clicking next page. It really does go fast.

Don't be silly. You won't need the read the whole thread. The first 500 to 700 pages provide an adequate summary. :)

    The ACD Method

It's funny because I have talked about the components and the mechanics of it on here probably 100 times. Still trying to delete that content off the web. :)

Confirmed weekly A downs across the board. Might just be a one week thing. The monthly A down at 1994 is probably a good spot to put some longs on.

    The long gamma road

How is this a long gamma trade? You are long SPX. When traders say they are long gamma it's usually implying a market neutral structure hence why they mention gamma. So basically you just bought the market today.

UNG contango amounts and option pricing

Yes, it's priced in. You need to read the UNG prospectus to specifically see how they do their rolls, when they do them and what combinations of contracts they use. I haven't read it otherwise I would tell you. The options will be priced off the forward curve so when nat gas is in contango...

    The ACD Method

I don't think valuation is helpful in a trading context. The reason we look at data is more to try to understand what is happening vs trying to label it and in turn take some action. The breadth indicator is very useful for explaining how the market is trading and what type of market...

    The ACD Method

One way to interpret this that is not "scary" is that it measures persistence, not value. In other words, what it's saying is that traders are not changing their bets. If something is working they are sticking with it.

Our internal breadth is at the highest level we have ever seen since 2007.

    Perhaps the dumbest question ever...

Liquidity has an opportunity cost for the provider. He/she has to be compensated for that and that cost gets passed to the buyer of that liquidity. You can think of it this way, in an uncertain world, how much liquidity would you provide at the current price? Now on a relative basis, how...

    Perhaps the dumbest question ever...

Markets are driven by liquidity. Liquidity ALWAYS is provided at steep discounts and premiums to current prices. News events move markets instantaneously to these liquidity centers. That is why you see gaps or sharp moves up and down.
