Job ads and 3+ Sharpe ratios

TBH, I doubt there would be a real fund out there that would care about strategies that have an output capacity of less then 5mm. Honestly, the worry about the fund taking your IP is far less important then worry that your strategy will stop working - most people I know try to keep up with R&D...

Maybe both. However, we are specifically arguing about the statement he made earlier: So far he would not even name that ethnicity, lest explain how he arrives at the dark side linkage.

A little girl's statue was installed in front of the Wall Street bull

I was responding the women in construction industry specifically, where there is an obvious physical strength requirement. Men who do go into nursing (9%) actually earn more then then women (https://www.census.gov/people/io/files/Men_in_Nursing_Occupations.pdf), so no structural issues there.

Look, you produce a single SEC case and it supposed to represent "reality slapping me in the face". Ok, so what's your point? That SLB is a shady business? Every trader knows that. Is it supposed to prove your single ethnicity linkage? I don't see that at all. You wanna add verifiable statistics...

I am sorry, are you talking back you "single ethnicity" statement now? Maybe we are finally going to be graced with a clarification on what that ethnicity is? Yes, I have a chip regarding any kind of group prejudice, ethnic or otherwise

Sorry, are you trying to say that all the accused are of a single ethnicity? Oh, you still are a racist, yeah

One of Bitcoin's Big Funds is Selling Ahead of the ETF Decision

Salt and seashells have also served as stores of value for millennia. It's all about perception. Ps. My "position" in bitcoin is 5 coins - it's not likely to bankrupt me :)

One of Bitcoin's Big Funds is Selling Ahead of the ETF Decision

To play the devils advocate, how is bitcoin different from let's say gold?

What should the VIX be at in order to sell options where RvR is worth it

Cheap? No. Relatively cheap? All the time. I hear your point, it's that we do different things

I am talking about personal relationships - obviously, at the firm level the only thing that matters is the bottom line.

    Reality for an Individual Trader

Long time ago, I told my boss I was resigning and my reasoning was "I am just a cow in search of greener pastures"

    Reality for an Individual Trader

If you develop true relationships, they last through crises and deliver eventually. I have seen people who moved from field to field purely based on connections etc. I have seen hedge funds raise money on a handshake alone.

A little girl's statue was installed in front of the Wall Street bull

No, it's not. There are no physical constraints, if anything, my experience has been that women make better traders and asset managers then men. However, at different stages of their career, they encounter issues specific to gender. I can elaborate but I honestly doubt anyone on ET cares.

What should the VIX be at in order to sell options where RvR is worth it

Funny, I think there are more dislocations across various forms of risk premium at the times of stress. I guess it depends on the exact strategies you're trading

They do interpret the news faster and the format of the news is specialized for automated parsing. The feed also has lower latency. So in the end they trade faster.

    Reality for an Individual Trader

I think we gonna see 2-3 person market making desks per product - some assets are already there and some will take a few years more. So let's say 10-15 product classes with 2.5 people on average per desk

    Reality for an Individual Trader

Well, it's the reality. I think it's been a problem on Wall Street that people who should have been building relationships have been instead pretending to generate trading revenue. Relationships have true value and it's one of the few skills that will never get automated - people that realized...
