Agree with what you said. That's why i am strong supporter of 2nd amendment. But certain weapons probably should be banned. Also, I strongly believe in background checks before firearm is sold. Mentally ill or felons should not have any legal ways to obtain guns.

If there is no national database and every gun purchase does not require background check, these tragedies will repeat over and over since too many loonies can easily buy guns. These same loonies, most probably know nothing about black market, and thus would not be able to acquire weapons there...

Most people like to live their lives fear free. Once someone feels that a gun is needed every time he walks outside, the fear is already there. Fear of robbery, government, neighbor and so on. Phoenix, for example, stated earlier that cops are criminals, I guess he fears cops. While...

Illinois set to pass Forced Confiscation of All Semiautos

The would be intruder or robber will flee at vast majority of cases at first sign of a gun, they do not want their precious lives be endangered. If it comes to shoot out, someone will rifle will face the same pressures, granted with a better chance due to a much bigger magazine. However...

Life insurance policy is a very smart thing to do. Carrying a gun every time one walks outside is not. I would hate to live in wild west where a gun is required to feel safe.

I offered you a bet on this subject a while back, you refused. You keep repeating the same thing over and over as if you trying to convince yourself about something. Let's wait and see.

In order to legally obtain a gun in NYC, it must be registered. The serial number and caliber is also printed on the back of my license. I am a law abiding citizen and have no issues with government knowing that kind of weapons I own.

You make assumptions about me without knowing anything. The laws will be changed, to which extent, who knows.

You are exactly right, the legal fees in any case will be huge. I dealt with attorneys and $300 per hour adds up to a lot quickly. I am glad to hear that you are reasonable adult who would not risk your own life over few hundreds. Not everyone is like that. Sure, there are situation where...

Unfortunately, you are absolutely correct about the process. Of course I am not, but criminals do not care about any laws. That being said, most of armed robberies end up without any casualties. Criminals usually interested in getting your wallet and not shooting you. Let's say you have a...

I happen to study history a lot. Btw, one of my favorite subjects. I said it before, and will repeat it again, Semi automatic AR15 and the like will not help against government should it turn against citizens. The weapons that might help, are prohibited from hands of citizens already. It is...

2nd amendment gives me the right to bear arms, then state and local governments can define what is allowed/appropriate and what is not for a particular area. Let's say concealed carry is vital to me feeling secure, there is absolutely nothing that stops me from leaving NYC and moving to...

I have no problem with people not agreeing with me or having a totally different view. However, I have noticed that once few of these posters start running out of arguments, or when I say something that pisses them off, it always ends up with some kind of an insult.

I am done responding to you, since all you can do is insults. Learn some manners first.

It has nothing to do with having lots of money. It is a way to be able to protect yourself when transporting cash to the bank. In reality, very few people use it, as NYC is very safe. There are just few bad areas like in any other big city that needs to be avoided.

Makes sense to me, 10 9mm rounds is plenty to protect almost against anything.

it actually does. Life in a city with population of 8,000,000 with very diverse backgrounds is a "bit" different than in the city of 8,000. Nothing is black and white.

It is not, but you not having a firearm and being such a strong defender of 2nd amendment is a bit hypocritical. It is the same as passionately arguing about a candidate but never setting a foot in voting booth.

It is a simple question, do you own a firearm?
