How do you feel when the market is closed - such as on weekends ?

Fantastic. I'd hate it if markets were open on weekends. I'm still at a point where the bulk of the weekend still goes to research, so I'm still working though.

    IQFeed vs Polygon.io

I trade through Ninjatrader Brokerage which offers CQG for 'free'. I also use IQ Feed since I need to download *.csv data for my database. As such - I always have a back-up feed in case one should go down.

    I hate strong trend days

If we look at days with only one major swing and which opens near one extreme and closes at the other - I count 4/113 down trend days and 5/113 up trend days so far in 2020. Thursday was one such day.

Renaissance hedge fund down 20% this year

To be clear - this is not the Medallion fund. Right?

    I hate strong trend days

    Well, off course.

    I hate strong trend days

You're the one not getting the gist, I'm afraid. You even confirm what I'm saying when you say we had limit down days on those days, but not on Thursday. I'm specifically referring to a strong gap down which simply sells, sells and sells throughout the entire day without a significant reversal...

    I hate strong trend days

Everything is after the fact. Besides, I already said that. Pure trend days in ES are rare.

    I hate strong trend days

Feel free to let us know which specific day this year was similar to Thursday.

    I hate strong trend days

Well, yesterday was. And I'm sure some trend followers profited massively. But over the last 15 years we've had less than 5 days even remotely similar to what we saw yesterday. There was simply no significant reversals and all levels were slashed right through like a hot knife in butter with a...

    I hate strong trend days

Yesterday truly was an unprecedented day when % change is factored in, i.e., a strong trend day down opening near the top and closing near the bottom without even a shallow retrace. Not even during the financial crisis did we see a day like this.

    Biggest island reversal ever

Could find a bottom at 3110 or 3080. Regardless of future price development, we're way overextended here and we're due at least a retrace - top or not.

    IQFeed vs Polygon.io

Really? I think I remember having trouble maybe 1-2 times over the total of 5 years I've been using them. Zero problems this week. And logged on just now without any issues. So that's odd. Is it possible we're connecting through different servers if we're in different countries? I have an...

The myth of letting your winners run

I recognize the problem having had similar experiences myself. If you look at how ES moves most of the time - it's very rare that it moves 20 points without a (significant) retrace. If you're actually behind the computer and try to capture a big one - one way to deal with it is this: Let's...

    What's a worthwhile daily take on the e-mini S&P 500?

Anyone at all? Particularly issue b.? Does other platforms aggregate trades or are they split like Ninjatrader does it in the example above? It seems to me the only solution is to find a way to aggregate this automatically in Excel. Curious to hear how others are dealing with this - if at all.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

I think I said it a few times. Remind me - what's the HOD today? My call is below. I've posted a ton of calls and trades which are not hedged beyond conditional probability which is what I do. Losses too. You posted a shampoo bottle this morning and been 'hinting' at being short all...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

You're literally putting words in my mouth. I have never said I'm constantly nervous. I'm specifically referring to points in time where I'm uncertain about the market moves. But sure. If the risk/reward is defined - you'd sure prefer the reward, right? And risk is relative too. If your bet...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Shorts will get smoked. Again. But I'm biased - off course. :) I'm anticipating a swing to 3220. 3230 would be an outlier target. It's anyone's guess at this point, IMO. EDIT: That would be by end of day. Next 54 might be just choppy, unless someone starts front-running the FED here.
