Trump real estate deal looks awfully like criminal tax fraud

It sounds as though the LLC structure was used for the purpose of concealing the real nature of the sale which appears to include a substantial gift from Trump to his son Eric. By doing this, were Trump to get away with it, he would avoid having the amount of the gift in excess of 14K charged...

Trump real estate deal looks awfully like criminal tax fraud

According to Propublica, which is generally very reliable. a limited liability company managed by Trump sold two condominium apartments to a limited liability company managed by Eric Trump.

    A Totally Rigged Market

I've laid the bull market mainly to two things: the depth of the recession making the recovery exceptionally drawn out, and a currently weakening dollar which tends to draw out the bull even more (I consider dollar strength and weakness to be a very important background factor in deciding longer...

Trump real estate deal looks awfully like criminal tax fraud

Agreed. It could be a legit transaction, assuming Trump acquired the condo in a legit, arms length transaction for $350 from a disinterested party. What are the chances of that? Maybe barely finite at best. When you do "all sorts of things in a transaction" that has the aroma of 4 day old...

Trump real estate deal looks awfully like criminal tax fraud

Actually I'm looking at it from the standpoint of Donald Trump, Gangster and pathological liar, and wondering if there is a form 709 for tax year 2016 with the Eric Trump gift listed on it, and how a group of 17 attorneys including money laundering experts, tax experts, and prosecutors might...

Trump real estate deal looks awfully like criminal tax fraud

How about giving $350,000 to one person in one year. It seems you would have to report that on form 709. You could count the excess taxes due for the amount over 14k against your lifetime estate tax exemption, but you'd still have to file form 709 to be legal. I think that's the question...

    A Totally Rigged Market

I think you're right! I found this, http://mobius.blog.franklintempleton.com/2016/11/22/central-banks-and-stock-markets-a-boj-case-study/ And even though that article is from a U.S. mutual fund company I have way more confidence in their assessment of BOJ operations then I ever would in...

    A Totally Rigged Market

That's interesting! So what are the words between the commas? Is the Japanese Central bank now like Goldman with a bunch of fat guys in bedroom slippers eating pizzas, smoking cigars and manipulating the equities market by buying/selling billions worth of equities on margin like madmen on...

Trump real estate deal looks awfully like criminal tax fraud

Think about it. If it were as simple a matter as you imply, then for 99% of the population any consideration of the annual gift tax exemption (currently 14K isn't it?) could simply be ignored, and you could gift freely with no thought given to tax liability whatsoever. I hardly think that is...

Senate blocks Trump from making recess appointments over break

Thank you, Ma'am. As a nation struggling to deal with a nincompoop President, we're much obliged.

    Reaganomics

I want to add one more observation. The 1988 Reagan era tax rates provide costly evidence of how a Steve Forbes "flat tax" could transition the United States at light speed from respected member of the community of enlightened nations to Banana Republic. We never quite got to totally flat in...

    The Wall.

Ive got a marvelous idea, one that no one else has thought of. If Mexico refuses to pay for the Wall, why not send them all our murderers and rapists. We have way more than they do! Then we can pay for the wall with the money saved on prison beds which will be on the order of 50K/yr per...

    Reaganomics

There is a litany of Reagan era economic initiatives that were very bad for the country in the long run. That's why he was at the same time one of the nations most charismatic presidents and one of the worst, although it now looks like Trump will easily surpass him in terms of damage done...

Democrats "Better Deal" Platform - hand me a barf bag

I'm a little frightened by the dedication, as it seems we are drifting toward becoming a police state. And too, I believe reform of our justice system should be well up on the list of priorities. I'm very bothered by our having more people incarcerated than any other country, having for-profit...

Murdered DNC Staffer Seth Rich Shared 44,053 Democrat Emails With WikiLeaks

wikileaks has been good. Their best stuff is picked up by the NYT and WP. The latter organizations do a good job of covering Wiki and a lot more.
