Thanks. But my belief: you get what you pay for. ONE BUCK FOR THE BOOK ?

    Been to JAIL yet ?

Well, in today's legal-oriented society, that is somewhat utopian. Here is my story. 7 years ago, one July Friday afternoon, 3 cop cars pulled up to my house. My wife was home at the time and witnessed them hand-cuffing me and taking me off to jail. It was well orchestrated with township...

    Been to JAIL yet ?

Day Trading is a destructive addiction

NO, he's actually right. I've seen many traders blow-up and it is usually from lack of discipline, BUT NOT ALWAYS. I've seen the cases where the traders used tight stops resulting in only 1 out of 4 trades ending up a winner. They ended up losing in a slow, painful way...like bleeding to death...

    Use InteractiveBrokers and Stop-Loss? BEWARE!

That is exactly right. All of this outsourcing of software work has produced mediocre products-at-best. That is what is being experienced here. The GUI is important...in fact, it's VITAL towards building great software. Gatling is correct in his assertion this could have been done much better.

Keeping trading stats -- is excel the best way?

Exactly...which makes it a terrible DBMS...unless you are very good at applying VBA routines to do the work for you in an automated fashion. Once you start to do everything in Excel by the "front end", you later discover the awful disadvantage of the "easy way out" approach.

Perpetual, I spent 100K to go to school and cannot earn income.

Exactly. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START UP A BUSINESS UNDERCAPITALZIED. First, get experts to determine your minimum level of capital required. Next, determine if you have the capital they recommend. Finally, determine if you have the skills and knowledge required to take the business forward...

What you have to do is evaluate this situation: 1) why did your systems not take advantage of this ? 2) does this event occur often enough to force you to reconsider it's value and therefore change your strategies ?

Thank goodness. I met one "hedge fund manager wanna be" and he had this system for playing OPENING GAPS. Wow, there was no software that could handle this...he had to get everything custom-programmed. In the end, it was a failure because he forgot to QUALIFY his list to LIQUID stocks. He'd get...
