Excuse this noob, but what exactly is the difference between a retail account and "private brokerage account"? You make it sound as if they're separate. For the record, I did actually googled it but couldn't find any meaningful difference.

All this week, with the exception of Friday, RTH sold off into the close only to rally in the AH. So could we have an opposite effect for Sunday night?

However, in the context of this thread, the problem wasn't that IB somehow got the wrong quotes from CME. In any case, who would I sue in this case for having "potentially" lost millions of dollars?

Well, actually 18 days. CME sent out an advisory notice on April 3 and CL/WTI crashed on April 21.

What I find more irritating is these naive simpletons who actually bought at the low thinking they're getting a real bargain. Did they truly believe it was normal for oil to trade at these low prices and not have any doubts or suspicions? How gullible can you get? Did they not hear the maxim...

Or, as somebody else has stated in another thread, their knowledge of the futures market is pretty sketchy. But you should also know that CME sent out an advisory note regarding negative pricing LONG BEFORE the price actually dipped below zero, so IB had plenty of time to implement this change...

I can already smell the scent of massive class action lawsuit. How could a broker so large as IB have screwed up so colossally? :rolleyes: BTW if my broker gave me an incorrect quote, then any loss I incur is not my responsibility.
