Arghhh....I shorted 2 dow futures at 20655, with a 5 point stop...i was fantasizing about a drop to 20600 i.e. a 11x then i realised i had to go to the gym...came back and found that the market had gone there.... unfortunately i forgot to put a limit order in at 20600...grrr edit: out at...

You can go leaner...just cut the calories but ensure your protein intake is adequate.

Funny thing is that us guys always pose like that...trying to flex both the biceps AND triceps even though they are opposing muscles.

Arthur Jones on how much exercise is "enough"

At the moment, i'm on an personal trainer course given by a world class researcher and bodybuilder/physique model who also happens to be my training coach. I'm finding that most of the stuff that is on the internet is incorrect and in direct contrast to what i'm being taught. One of those is...

Arthur Jones on how much exercise is "enough"

I workout 4 to 5 times a week for about an hour a time. I don't think that's a big deal tbh. 5 hours (say 6 hours if you include commute time) a week? The average person in America watches 4 hours of TV a DAY! For you, instead of increasing number of sets, you can simply increase your intensity...

Arthur Jones on how much exercise is "enough"

The negative effects build as you start doing reps. But they build exponentially. That last rep to failure can double the amount of negative effects but only increase muscle activation (which is linear) a bit more than the previous reps. So from a cost benefit point of view, it ain't worth...

Latest research shows no additional benefit of going to failure: http://journals.lww.com/nsca-jscr/Abstract/publishahead/Effect_Of_Resistance_Training_To_Muscle_Failure.96151.aspx

Just increase your volume. Do another set if you want.

Arthur Jones on how much exercise is "enough"

Just go 1 short of failure...virtually all the benefits but none of the side effects of failure. Side effects are primarily massive metabolic stress i.e. lactate, endocrine and ammonia production increase exponentially. Ammonia is toxic to the brain btw....

    Got Milk?

Yeah, i agree. Best milk to drink for muscle growth is the full fat version which is the least processed. If you are dieting then sure, move down the ranks to semi skimmed, then skimmed, then finally this mega processed stuff.

Arthur Jones on how much exercise is "enough"

The benefits of going to failure on a set are hugely outweighed by the negatives. Avoid.

Experienced lifters lose fat by intermittent fasting

The study refers to experienced strength trainees. Unless you fit into that group, the findings don't have much relevance. Note that pretty much everyone does intermittent fasting for maybe 8 or more hours every day...you don't eat whilst sleeping.

Risking 1% of your total equity. Does this refer to the stop?

Risk taken should vary MASSIVELY depending on the position, your confidence in the trade etc. I tend to bet 0.1% of my account but have gone up to 20% on occasion (e.g. brexit and trump election last year are good examples). The best trader in the world explains how to do it:

Risking 1% of your total equity. Does this refer to the stop?

The Swiss franc debacle busted more than a few people, regardless of stops.

My Story Trading as teenager, lost $50000 daytrading futures

Hold on Surf, no need to suck my cock just yet....I do use price action or TA, call it what you will, just that i don't use it solely...i look far more at fundamentals a lot these days.

My Story Trading as teenager, lost $50000 daytrading futures

The point, my young teen friend, is not to put too much faith in TA. Doesn't matter if you took an 'advanced* course in TA' or not! *wtf is 'advanced' TA?

My Story Trading as teenager, lost $50000 daytrading futures

Here's a story for you: when i was a trader on the exchange floor, a broker was made redundant by his company (i think he worked for Barclays). He took a course on TA and then went back into the pit to trade for himself. Happy ever after? Nah, he blew up by the end of the week and was...
