I don't care what anybody says...DTN IQFeed delivers quality data. Friday post 3 pm was a perfect example.....the ES/NQ futures market was moving at the speed of light.... there were violent reversals on big volume.....and it did not miss a beat.

I'm using DTN IQFeed....very good so far. Never see a gap in ES/NQ prices intraday.

Totally agree...my stops are too tight. I'm working on this......to optimize stops based on price action. I'm trying to use highest high - lowest low for the past 10 bars.....as a proxy for the stop range.....200 ticks per bar.

Speed for one, intelligence for another. With these recent markets, a 5 pt move in a quarter second in NQ is typical. Damn it moves fast. I need the stop to be adaptive. That's what is missing with manual orders. Yeah, I can move them, but many times I'm too late.

Hard stops in ES and NQ futures sometimes KILL me and sometimes they SAVE me. For me, the verdict is still out.....I think I need an automated system.

You must have reliable indicators as well as be tuned to the news-of-the day. Case-in-point: look at that last minute rally today in ES/NQ futures.....just amazing.

Copper should remain under pressure for the foreseeable future.... weak USA housing demand a biggie....as well as China's problems.

Equity curve is a disaster after year 2000. So much for that strategy.

However, the markets are not very predictive....so this move doesn't make sense.

Great story actually.....The one big trade did it for him. BTW: I love the reference to BMW's being junk. They WERE back in the mid-late 70's. I had two of them !!
