Yes. Correct. Here's some data for you all. My current data set stops at 2005, so I can't query dates before that at this point. By Thursday Close, we're down - 12,17 % since last Friday and -12,38 % from ATHs. The last 2 times we were down more than 12 % on a Thursday was the 20th of November...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

To be perfectly honest, I was exhausted (but profitable) after yesterday's morning session and stressed out. So, I took the rest of the day off while leaving a lot on the table. As posted, I thought we could break the LOD yesterday, but a part of me still didn't believe it was quite possible. So...

I remember that poster, but wasn't he the guy who were going non-stop long after QE started post the financial crisis? Or was he posting (and blowing up?) prior to that too? One thing's for sure - the buy the dip crowd can easily blow a lot, if not all, of their profits if they don't adjust...

It should be a signature line of mine by now: "I hope you're right, but I fear you're wrong." Except this time - I'm wondering if it can actually happen. But let's start with 20 % down at ES 2715.

Equally - one can say that those who were conditioned to markets of the past got badly burned trying to short this great bull since it there had to be a crash at some point. How many top calls have there been for these last years? Most traders seem to have difficulties adjusting and some remain...

Far worse? Was it really? I'm not talking about the crisis in total - but the sequence of days from the top on this specific week. That is - this many days down in a row at this size without any corrections in between.

I sincerely hope history repeats itself. I hope that does not make me evil.

I did not. Thanks. What was the peak to bottom drop before the first correction, i.e., bear rally?

Is it time to go to cash? Ideas, Sentiment and timing thread.

Well, the sequence of down days we've seen this week is indeed very different from prior corrections. This is a crash - not a normal correction. Where to from here? No idea. But 20 % down takes us to 2715 on ES/SPX.

Wow! Actual low was 2973,75 / - 4,57 % down and a close at the bottom tick! We're in crash mode and we're seeing truly unprecedented market action here. That is - not this day in isolation, but the actual sequence of days we've been seeing this week. Suspend your belief of what's possible...

4 % down at 2991. Can easily do that by the Close at this rate if the LOD does not hold on this final push down. No relative strength on NQ either... 4 points left till we find out.

Agreed. Let's keep it friendly. And if you're in disagreement with someone using a methodology other than your own, you're free to disagree in silence... Triple top here. If we push higher from here - we can find resistance at 3085. If not - all clear for a gap fill at 3116,25. But it's...

I'll bite! Why did you? :) But just as interesting to me is where to from here? And is this the top that so many on ET have tried to pick for the last years now?

This market is weak as f''k today as well. Zero signs of a bottom yet. The NYSE TICK is barely making prints above zero today. That's very telling. 4 % down at 2991,50. Let's see if we get there. What's another 20 points at this rate, right? I'm also noting an open gap at 2941,25, but...

I'm not so sure it's just the Corona, @vanzandt . There's certainly uncertainty because of it, but I wonder if it's simply the excuse and final trigger/catalyst the market's been waiting for a long time now with a lot of other factors contributing. Like @Spooz Top 2 is saying.

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

The interesting question is if this is different from prior sizeable and volatile corrections we've had these 11 years. I get the feeling it might be? What's particularly unique is the speed, size, magnitude and the fact that there's no upwards retracements to speak of. We're simply dropping...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

No doubt. I already took a decent slice and am taking a breather here. We're currently seeing 'shallow' retraces that normally would be the day's main move. Edit: And decent fills require really fast execution. Missed the boat a few times the last days. Luckily, there's plenty of second...

We need to start building that floor today, @Buy1Sell2. Not looking very good for the bulls today either after this overnight session. The market's in panic mode and it's starting to look more like a full blown crisis and not just a correction at this point.

Any real reasons left to go with a desktop / tower over a laptop? (Faster / more powerful perhaps?)

Well, is that because of economy or are there other benefits? For someone who's not very computer savvy like me, it would not be my first choice, but maybe I should give it a go.
