Obviously, it's the difference between market and limit orders. The market drops in the absence of liquidity and sellers willing to hit the bid with their market orders. If there were sufficient liquidity at a certain price level - price would never drop as all market orders would be absorbed...

I pretty much considered myself done for today, but am watching that 2900 level. If we trade down there and break - I think it's worth risking a short in anticipation of a test of the lows and possibly a slide even further. Beyond that - just watching.

And now we're 40 points down again. If it's the same pattern as yesterday where we in fact first traded 90 points off the morning lows, we can easily make new lows again. :)
