AMAZING how much Co-workers want to BULLS**T

Corporate employees either BS'ing or trading. Hmmmm....if that's the case, why was yesterday's productivity statistic up so much ? Who's really working harder ?

    45% world's wealth destroyed

Yep, I'm expecting the final number at the nadir to be about 80% loss - peak to trough. Should happen early 2010. My father-in-law was down 50% with his retirement fund. Now he's "only" down 25%. I told him to bail out completely with this big rally. He looked at me funny and said I want to...

AMAZING how much Co-workers want to BULLS**T

Is this a TRADING office or a corporate/business office ? If the latter, I've experienced the same recently. I'm absolutely ASTOUNDED at how little work gets done in corporate America today, yet these employees think they are so entitled to that fat salary and benefits. Amazing.

    Marketsurfer's bold gold proclamation

Well, Surf is pretty good on DIRECTION, but a bit lacking in TIMING. I think we are DEFLATING. There's no way gold can climb in that environment. Not with wages declining. It's like water moving upstream....just can't happen. Surf made a similar call on CROC - perfect direction, just a bit early.

    dykstra declared bankruptcy.

http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=173029 Not quite, but he's not the super trader he's made out to be. Was he possibly just lucky ? After all, he made most of his money early-on in options, yet he never ever even mentions options anymore.

    IB Chronic Data Feed Issue

Please quit it. I've been on the Yahoo IB API group for a year now and know this: All fixes take an enormous amount of time with IB's "technical" staff. For one small API bug, it took an entire year to fix. You are not with Bloomberg you know...more like the McDonalds of direct access...

    keystone trading group

Not true...IF you establish yourself as an LLC. Just interviewed with a new office opening up as a satellite. $10k deposit, Greybox platform, ESignal for $100/mo. Commish wasn't a great deal, nor was I impressed with Greybox...it's actually kind of scary...you never get confirmations about...

    keystone trading group

They waive the training fee if you have a proven track record to show them. Otherwise, I don't blame them for making you "pay up". Why should they take a risk on a "nobody" from "nowhere" with "nothing" to show ?

Professional grade Charting software - how to find good retail charting software

Uh...what you meant was: 1) custom programmable indicators are the best way to go 2) tick charts are great because they reflect activity. (Note: Ticks correlate to time-and-sales, no need for both) 3) order flow can be very deceptive....be careful using it for more than a few milliseconds...

Excel non recognition/calculation of data in cells

You are helpless on this one...it all depends upon the DDE SERVER's implementation. I think you are wrong on this. The limiting factor has got to be CPU. Only thru some sort of Excel DLL or XLL written in C would you be able to do this. It would have to send snapshots of each book every 250...

Professional grade Charting software - how to find good retail charting software

Yep, this is the prop trading "model". It insures you can never go automated with your trading. Order entry with one data stream and charts with a separate data stream/feed....not an ideal set-up IMHO. I just interviewed with a Hold Bros satellite office....same thing. Graybox for order entry...

Professional grade Charting software - how to find good retail charting software

Exactly. This guy's criteria or sense of good software is flawed. If Tradestation is in the running, then MultiCharts should also be there. After all, it's an improved "clone" of Tradestation.

Excel non recognition/calculation of data in cells

Wow, you are watching over 200 symbols at once ? In any case, the problem with DDE is that most implementations return market data randomly for each DDE-referenced cell. The best approach is to return the data for ALL cells at the same time into an array on a timer. Much less messaging...

    Index data feed into Excel

..and I thought I was cheap ! You can get R/T quotes via paid subscription to Yahoo Finance. I think it's $10/mo if you commit to an entire year. Then you just need Randy Harmalink's excellent Excel SMF add-in.
