How much money did you make from your new back-adjusted continuous charts? :)

Who has read Al Brooks books?

In what way do you find volume based charts better? I do use them myself as my "fast" charts, but mostly out of habit. I wouldn't say to someone they should use volume based instead of time based as I couldn't claim it makes a difference.

Not in private message, I hope? ;) Thank you for your bearish sentiments. I'm feeling a bit too bullish lately, so much needed with some balance and warnings ahead. Pretty sure we blasted right through 4K and kept going for a while. I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong. Not at my trading...

Yes. Private messages are private messages, unless otherwise agreed upon by both parties. I did see you reference triple witching day earlier in this thread. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's next month, right? And I think they call it quad witching these days.

It's always been said that market's fall faster than they rise, but I'm not sure that saying is true in newer times. Both short term (intraday) and on the daily time frame. Think I did a study on it once. There sure have been some insane rips these last few years.

    Forever Bull Market

LOL. I don't think we're quite on the same page, but yes, the market seems incredibly strong at the moment and I'm sure it will continue through 2024. I don't think it's a 'forever' bull market, though, and epic pumps tend to end with epic dumps. Stock market indices are in a sense rigged to...

    Forever Bull Market

Seems like another V in the making. At this point it seems like even a nuke wouldn't affect the market. To me, it seems like something changed after last year's rally. Prior to that, we had larger ranges with good swings both up and down.

    Forever Bull Market

There was that one time when the FED actually raised rates, but that disgusting thug Trump bullied him into reversing course.

Stop at B/E. Will take it off for + 10 points pre-CPI if my stop doesn't get hit first. Well, it wouldn't surprise me as we're due at least a pullback, but the market's still in hyper bull mode, so we could continue higher without, too. Regardless, holding into that CPI release is probably...

Maybe a bit preachy? We could after all continue lower. What do I know. :)

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Took a look at some similar days. My guess is that unless tomorrow's CPI is a trainwreck - we rally tomorrow. I would take my profits and run, @schizo, if you're still short. Great entry, though! I didn't catch it and bought the dip a few times too many until my mind finally switched short...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

The market closed literally 25 points from all time highs. I wouldn't read too much into it. Regardless, I think the CPI print tomorrow is what's on everyone's radar and which will likely trigger a new short term direction. Hell, even if the number comes out hot, I'm sure it will be a good buy...

'Tis Not the Time to Dick Around, Mr, Jerome Powell. Cut the Damn Rates Now!

I'm no economist, so I will not speak with authority on the subject, but, to me, it seems incredible to even consider cutting rates at this point. Let the rates stay right where they are and even consider raising them. Interest rates are disciplinary for the economy and encourages competition...

    Forever Bull Market

LOL. My sentiments exactly at the time. That CPI revision was not in my calendar, but a trading buddy alerted me to it and said he would be careful holding long positions into that release and after. My immediate gut reaction was, "No f**king way that number will be revised higher and it should...

5K tagged. ;) Main weekly bias exploited for now. Let's see if it runs or not. Long/medium term - there's plenty of upside this year.

The market's been stuck in a range, yes, but it's bound to hit 5K this week, sooner or later. So, IMNSHO, the way to play the range is to buy the dips. Selling the rips are riskier as it will eventually break out higher.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Sounds good. Diversifying a bit is probably not a bad idea. I think what you mention about opportunity cost is very key since active day trading doesn't really make sense if you're not doing considerably better than simply being invested. My attitude is that I'll ride the bubble higher if it...
