I do agree. Driving while under the influence of anything like alcohol, medications, drugs, is not a good thing. Even hard rock can be distracting and create feelings of aggression. :)

I use Qcharts and had the same question. I noticed the daily chart reflected a different open than the hourly hart by a lot so I asked them. They said for them the daily open occured at 9 am, but if not using 24hr data, which I don't, the open is at 9:30. Makes sense to me, I don't use 24 hr, so...

Then why wait until lunch... unless for you lunch is before the trading day starts?

I am not sure of the process, or if what you say is true, but if so, is it sort of like the old adage, buy the rumor and sell the news? The equipment is bought and paid for, the hard numbers are in, the speculation is over, time to get out. Heck I don't know. :)

Thanks cheeks. I appreciate your thoughtful post. Your post drives home the reason I went to the pit in the first place... that and my commish was $2 per ticket then and not the $90 each way it was back then too off the floor. Your point also briefs the same reason I quit very short term...

No there isn't and I appreciate your generous response. I am an ma and oscillator trader too for day and position trades. Love 'em. I am not subscribed to real time data for them as yet, but I think what I will do is watch the delayed charts to get a feel for the spreads and the price...

Before I bought my CME membership, I was a runner at the merc and the board for 6 mos eachto see which way I wanted to go... bonds or spoos. I chose spoos actually because I could never get the hang of the bonds for some reson... and the chix were hotter at the merc imo.

I agree with the above. For the people who are paid to predict of course there is a reason. For those of us on ET, I think it is a matter of conversation and perhaps recognition. Since most of us are TA-type traders, our predictions don't really matter anyway.... being wrong is just about...
