    The ACD Method

I really hate to detract and ask this question but "how do people draw the monthly Aup and Adown levels on their chart" ?. A #2 pencil works but there has gotta be a simpler way. Algo: draw a 20 bar straight line at a level , + and - , at x* (5 bar ATR). Xcel?

Relative etf's (buy something with something else)

I dont know they do listen anymore, but it will be interesting to watch currencies, emerging markets and US treasuries if the fed does get in a couple bumps in the next year with Japan and Europe engaging in QE. But no, it does seem US stock indices have become much less sensitive to fed...

Relative etf's (buy something with something else)

Emerging markets are a sell here on this pullback. EDZ is short term vehicle. Most emerging and asain countries down. Commodity producing countries and currencies continue to be weak. USD vs euro and yen is strong. Gold is putting in a tripple bottom over the last year at 1150ish level. 1100...

Greece asking for $59 billion now, yes more bailouts and absolutely no such thing as failure!!

Can you involved, knowledgable parties actually envision Greece slowly adjusting and adopting relative austerity to meet EU membership requirements? I cant. Wouldnt it be better for Greece, to simultaneously recieve more assistance, slowly reform from these current extremes under the guise...

Relative etf's (buy something with something else)

Greek vote was NO to austerity terms. Few days later Greece submits new proposal. They want debt forgiveness and 35 billion in stimulus. European markets rallied a couple days on this news. German 10 year Bund up 18 bp. To 88bp. on the weeks last trading day alone. Another run over 100bp may...

Hedge Fund Expert Marketsurfer Trashes The iWatch (once again)

Does this China stock market melt down and slightly lower GDP going forward somehow translateinto lower demand for i-watches from the Chinese people? One would think so. Shorting AAPL. Is this a call Surf?

Germany is the country that has never repaid its debts. It has no standing to lecture other nations

http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/2013/06/destruction-of-french-manufacturing.html This was not the best article on this issue and, trade offs may better describe rather than sacrifice, but the main take away that i had was that a lingering fear of an isolated Germany was a factor in...

Germany is the country that has never repaid its debts. It has no standing to lecture other nations

Seriously, this discussion of history and economics is above me however i read somewhere, as I dont have original thoughts on such matters, that all European countries sacraficed to bring a unified Germany into a union. It was not assured that a unified Germany would be such a peaceful...

    Chop 2

Maybe arbing the mean is a form of chop trading. A ratio or difference line of a very close pair can look like chop. Well known method is to intitate at the low frequency edges/margins and close at the high freqency mean. Rather than late recognition of chop and an inevitable breakout from...

    Chop

Chop is extended or lengthy Market Profile Time at price. If you enter at the mean, long or short, you can sell at a profit later unless chop ends. Frequency of chop varies from Al Brooks barbed wire to Jeff Coopers HitnRun pattern, and of course all of Alan Farleys work in between. Partially...

Relative etf's (buy something with something else)

Greece referendum this weekend. I expect a YES vote and an agreement with creditors. NFP came in around expectations at 223k added. Last two reports revised down about 30k jobs each. Hourly wages flat. Increase in people leaving the workforce. Not a good report. -6, -4, -1 bp. Bullish...

    The ACD Method

Admitedly , I am long rates , 20+ , via the TMV etf. Assurances from an empowered ECB, (was this the real reason?) may help. We will see how US markets react tommorrow. Doesnt help now, but should revert back to steepening after this blows over.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-33305019 Seems fluid, requiring constant monitoring , evaluation and possibly adjusting ones position. Im thinking Cypress but maybe the ECB cap is sufficient to guarantee solvency. No? Seems to me that Greece can default again and, the can can still be...

Pabst has a Hall of Fame thread where he authored an article( i believe Surf was involved) where he very nicely spoke of the real time ongoing reevaluation of positions. So , what do you think just got priced in? Graccident/Grexit/Grapilat Controls/Grank Failures?

Niederhoffer thinks "follow the trend" sucks

That would be a nice thread and with your weight here participation might be quite good. Can you tell how rare your method of trend or momentum definition is? You may see a few similar minded traders doing the same thing, right? Not at all fishing here, well..... , but its the concept that is...
