Entries, Exits, TA and Trade Management - A Quest To Becoming A Refined Trader

The bars and lines and charts themselves are only a means of illustration. What matters is the auction market and where traders are looking for trades.

Entries, Exits, TA and Trade Management - A Quest To Becoming A Refined Trader

It isn't about bars and candles and lines. It's a market. Traders couldn't find trades below 42.90 so the only other options are either sideways or up. Place your stoplimit entry above this level and let the market stop you in. If it doesn't, there's no trade. Don't know about ND. Haven't...

Entries, Exits, TA and Trade Management - A Quest To Becoming A Refined Trader

ND hasn't been around for a while, but the first pullback comes at 0951, at the 42.9 level. It even drops below the low of the preceding bar. If you're watching this in real time, you should have no trouble seeing it.

Do you believe in a holy grail?

Moving averages are indicators. If one doesn't read. Otherwise, it takes days and days. You're welcome, though the link was posted for the OP.

    Or, even simpler, without indicators . . . www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/wyckoff-forum/16270-if-you-can-draw-straight-line.html#post179217

    BMT Elite Membership

As I said, I was never banned from BMT. And even if I had been, so what? As to multiple nicks, isn't this your third?

    BMT Elite Membership

Hmmm. A multi-nick TOS issue. I wonder whom else that might apply to?

    Making of a method

Nonetheless, you didn't short the test of the UL of the TC, and there was no reason not to.

    Making of a method

I won't pursue this, but given that you've spent a year getting to where you are, I strongly suggest that you reconsider abandoning the SLA/AMT in favor of something that you haven't even begun testing. Good luck anyway.

620 is the UL of the TC I posted yesterday.

You're drawing your charts in hindsight, right to left. Therefore, your ULs and LLs are incorrect.

I disagree. Assuming the prep was done thoroughly and properly, all one has to do is follow price. Trying to outguess it is a quick road to overtrading assuming one is able to make a trading decision at all. See the chart I posted to TL regarding yesterday's SLA trades.

    New to TA

I can't help but wonder how many of the indicator people were able to take advantage of the 40pt drop in the NQ today. I'm sure all of them did. :)

    Bern's Experiment

For the time you're evaluating it, yes. Remember, however, that you're not required to use a 1m bar interval. If news is an issue with you, use a 15m or a 30m or an hourly. What matters is buying and selling the limits.

    Making of a method

On the other hand, AMT forecast the top last night and we are now 40pts lower, and all one has to do is draw a straight line. Or, if drawing a channel, two.

    Bern's Experiment

I never pay any attention to news. On the other hand, if a tornado alert were issued, I most likely would stop using my computer long enough to find shelter. If I were sick, I wouldn't be trading at all. As to frequent loss of an internet connection, that's what catastrophe stops are for...

    Bern's Experiment

If you choose to incorporate news into your tactics, there's nothing to stop you from doing so. However, incorporating news is not a part of the SLA. Your results therefore will vary.

Not bad. This is the direction that the journal should take at this point.
