Is IB designed to just feed liquidity to Timber Hill?

That, IMO, is an absurd assumption that the prime brokerage business clientele are all "informed" with respect to the outcome of your particular position. Are you hedging a 3 year plain vanilla swap OTC transaction with CBOT Note futures ? Was Amaranth "informed" ? Was LTCM "informed " ...

Is IB designed to just feed liquidity to Timber Hill?

I prefer complete counter-party anonymity. If I actually knew who was taking the other side of my stuff, I would be scared shit-less and paralyzed no doubt. Besides, it appears that you have no choice in the matter. If you need complete transparency or need to deal with certainty, open a...

    The 98% Who Fail

Yes, if indeed your business is legal, this is one of those rare generalizations that holds water. Trading has a very low capitalization entry price compared to other business ventures, and from my observations over the years, most traders fail because they do not have an adequate trading...

Good regime for trend-following and mean-reverting strategies?

It's more tolerable if in his subsequent responses he has shown some sort of progress towards doing some proactive and self-directed research himself - which, unfortunately, is seldom the case. RK, you have reminded me to stop feeding the pigeons and I will take your observation to heart.

    The 98% Who Fail

March 2011, futures spreads exclusively. Very modest max drawdowns, scaleable, very cheap to capitalize with the exchange SPAN margin credits. I took on an S&P 500 pit trader in Feb. who is 7 for 7 with the grain spreads. You do not have to compete with the bots. Guess what, markets trend...

    The 98% Who Fail

Ten years ago, I was a very high volume Liffe / Eurex trader. I personally re-invented myself into much more of a swing trader, and the results have been very positive for me in terms of my own trading. I have a client who has returned 45% on his capital since going live on March 01, and...

Good regime for trend-following and mean-reverting strategies?

Two years are hardly a "multi-sigma single day or event-driven move" per se. You ask tons of questions under every subject matter known to mankind, really kinda ADHD almost. Try completing one task first, please.

    The 98% Who Fail

98% of the people who start a small business fail. 98% of the people who start a restaurant fail. 98% of the college sophomores who declare pre-med ultimately never graduate medical school. 98% of the people who declare themselves as a candidate for US President fail. So what ? Name one...

Get in touch with the NFA immediately - they will actually be much more proactive, diligent and aggressive with him than the CFTC or SEC. Do not try to get others involved, because it is your own funds you are trying to recover. Regan is registered with the NFA and as a member has agreed to...

    curve flattening

I would agree that the FoB looks alot like the last week in Jan. / first week in Feb. in terms of levels and extension, my preference would be to wait on the beast to establish a trend change in lieu of strictly timing the market per se. The fisting analogy is most apropo.

I use ScanExpert, because I need to perform custom studies on several timeframes for the same instrument. I you only use one timeframe on a symbol, most anybody's scanner will work. So, essentially you buy a canned package and adapt your studies and methodologies to it.
