Oh wow, looks like that was fake news. That is good. That would have been horrible.

Wholly crap is this true re: Biden and Texas electricity shortage?

I know nothing about "yournews", I saw the link posted on another site. But they actually (apparently) at least post the actual document, and cite it...

https://yournews.com/2021/02/19/2033550/joe-bidens-dept-of-energy-blocked-texas-from-increasing-power/ Is that true? Absolutely horrible if so.

Why do moving averages SUCK so much?

So I ran some simple moving averages on Excel. Just simple moving averages. Like on SPY. But I tested everything from like 2 day moving averages (lulz) through 300 day moving averages. All the numbers sucked versus just buy and hold. Way worse upside, and the max drawdown was barely...

As short interest falls to near-record lows, two traders sound the alarm on short squeeze traps

Yep. They need to shut their flapping pie holes and focus on not wasting taxpayers' money.

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

Thanks Sig! On option 1, I got it - the adjustment would just be taken into account in the futures price. Hence why futures price is (generally) spot + interest rate (cash and carry) adjustments over time, per your example. On option 2, my question was this (but I think I have it figured out...

Has anyone looked at long term strategy of looking at just buying real growth/low money printing?

Sig, thanks so much! Your example is crystal clear, I follow it 100%. Two follow up questions. 1. The first one is just a small technical question. Taking your example, what is the specific mechanism that causes the FFF currency to rise? So the lender borrows in FFF, then lends in dollars...

IB Margin requirements rising as VIX falls, reaching nonsense levels

Wow, awesome thread. I had shorted some VIXY at high prices, made some money. But the lower VIXY went, and the more I made, my free cash, buying power, etc. kept going DOWN. I literally almost got margin called, had to sell the position and take the gain. This, and poor recent customer...

1/4 of all USD printed in 2020! Money printing raises an eyebrow.

Just remember, if popcorn goes to $3, and people start eating dirt because they can't afford $3 popcorn, the feds will say there is basically no inflation because said popcorn is no longer even being consumed and the price of dirt has only gone from .0001 cents to .00010001 cents....

How to Buy Low and Sell High in Today Market Using Options Wheel Strategy

OK, let's take what you wrote piece by piece. "ok stock dun go 1 way up, so i wouldnt want to sell a put when the stock make a new high or all time high, it look stupid right after i sell a put and it tank so i wait for a pull back?" But have you back-tested to see if "waiting for a pull-back"...

what am I missing about writing options?

Spaghetti Code, interesting statement when you say SPY has been a bumpy road since 1993. Obviously, its gone way up. What do you mean exactly by that statement? Just more volatile than previously generally? Bigger pullbacks? Or what? Thanks.

1/4 of all USD printed in 2020! Money printing raises an eyebrow.

Oh, I definitely see prices rising at stores and what not. They do do some voodoo on their CPI calculations and what not. Inflation will come back in a BIG way. I don't know when, but it will be a new kind of hurt for a generation that never experienced it.

How to Buy Low and Sell High in Today Market Using Options Wheel Strategy

OK then, back to your original topic winstonwee. Let me try and understand what you are thinking you are gaining there, and why is in large parts just a market timing thing. So the first step is waiting for the stock to pull back a bit. But, why? If the market appreciates on average over...

Thanks so much for all that Sig, I really appreciate you taking the time to type all that out. A few follow-up questions: 1. Looking at the attached link: https://www.investing.com/currencies/usd-chf-contracts So the current spot price of Dollars-to-Francs is 1.115 dollars to buy 1 Franc it...

How to Buy Low and Sell High in Today Market Using Options Wheel Strategy

I agree completely that if you cannot easily sustain a $45k loss you should not be writing calls. But let me ask you this - if you were THAT worried about the theoretically "unlimited" risk, why not just buy a waaaaaay out of the money call to protect you? When GME was at $20 I'm sure you...
