EU - where is it going next?

This EURUSD has been trading in range of 2800 to 3400 for quite some time. I tend to buy or short somewhere in the middle and pull out a few hundred pips a month. Its an easy strategy when I'm really busy with other life obligations. Most recent short at 3110.

EU - where is it going next?

Oh the temptation! Down 190 pips and really tempted to add to this short. Will it visit 2800 or 2900 again or is it headed north?

Thanks for your input everyone. She is going to go out fighting like hell, hoping for the small chance of a "cure". Great advice about the juicer etc., that one of you made earlier. We are in active discussion with the doctor how to maintain her diet throughout this process. She is...

You are going to work until you drop dead

Until I drop dead? Nonsense. I'm retiring some time next year after I win 100 billion in the lottery.

With leukemia, if you remain in remission for more than 5 years you're considered cured. Sadly, chemo leaves you vulnerable to other cancers.

    A lethal illness

Startdust, I wish this were a hypothetical question, but it isn't. Someone close to me is suffering from acute myeloid leukemia. I am trying to help them through the process as best I can. Obviously, this person will need to decide what is best for themselves. Fortunately, the chromosomal...

Yes, of course it does. I was actually curious to see whether or not a trader would value life and comfort differently.

I need the opinions of risk takers-traders. 1. Die gently over a period of a few months or weeks. 2. Die perhaps agonizingly over a period of weeks or months, but there is a 25% probability you will be cured. You are 71 years old. Which option would you choose. No, I am not the one dying.

How good of a trader do you need to be to make a living?

Exactly. If your "markup" on your trade was more than 30%, if you could charge out your "staff" at 3 times what you were paying them, then the comparison might be more meaningful.

How good of a trader do you need to be to make a living?

That's not what I'm saying. In sales, your probability of buying low and selling high is greater. It's designed that way. Otherwise, you wouldn't attempt to acquire the product you intend to sell. Furthermore, your %yield per transaction is generally higher than it would be if you we're...

How good of a trader do you need to be to make a living?

Trader198, I agree, sort of. The difference however in business is that each transaction always yields a positive net income. They wouldn't otherwise be selling the product unless its cost was less than the sale price. In trading we don't have that same guarantee.

EU - where is it going next?

I see your math skills are poor. 2.5 years divided by 4 months is 6.75. 6.75 times 50 is about 335 trades. 6.75 times 233 is over 1400%. Got you beat, my friend! All of this assumes no compounding.

EU - where is it going next?

Whatever. I've made 233% in 4 months and I haven't lost a single trade on over 50 trades (A guess at the trade count - I have lost track and don't feel like counting). Of course, all of this becomes meaningless if I lose it all like you did. :D

I see, I see. So you've lost all your money and now can only recommend. Hope you're right about the EURUSD dropping like a stone. I want to go long again at 3000.

Glad I have a very wide 600 pip stop. I am profitable again on that short.
