    "value investing"

I have close to 55k shares now. I really believe in the company. I don't intend to go around hyping it. I hate those types of people, and I refuse to degrade myself to their level. In all honesty, I kinda want it lower to I can take some more at good prices. I am not looking at it as a bookvalue...

    "value investing"

I agree with all that you say. I am currently midbook on grahm (newest addition). I am curious on thv though. Can any of you find anything at all seriously the matter with it that would explain it's 1.05 price? I've taken quite a lot for my first serious shot at investing. I'm a trader at heart...

    "value investing"

    1. It is very much more fun than daytrading. I like the idea of "snooping around" in the sec. filings and looking for goodies. 2. It's impossible to buy trends, or predict when they'll terminate before they have. I prefer to buy lows and sell highs. It's quite easy.

    cybertrader bugs?

I personally just use redi. It defaults to soes/snet I think. It takes about 2 seconds max to sweep the book to where your limit is. I am not a fast stotock trader though. I find it to be best so far for cyber. I use island or redi to offer.

    "value investing"

I've reread this thread a number of times. I am still very intrigued. I think that I can figure this out in time. I have a few questions still. How come the insider selling in amcv wasn't recognized by yahoo. Was it just a time lag in yahoo updating their data? Same situation in occf. The ceo...

    Power Outages, what to do?

I bought one for $200. It claims I get like 50 mins of juice. It's closer to 20-30, but I have the time to sell out opens I'm concerned with and I dont have to call cyber and just sell at market. I can usually save some slippage that way. Mine is a conext. No complaints.

    Praetorian2 How about an update?

I notice that the other thread is closed, so I'll add to it here rather than post there. It didn't make it to hod today. I started to sell at around noon and I picked up the pace of my selling later in the day. I didn't like how there weren't many buyers chasing. Who knows really. I just don't...

    Praetorian2 How about an update?

I sold all today. Made a lousy 11k. Stock just didn't seem to have juice today.

    I have a dream.

On a side note. I know of a number of market players who make 1m a year. I know one who had a streak of million dollar months that spanned like 4-6 months or something. I know it isn't impossible. It is quite possible. You just need a large enough account to achieve it. I think that if you had a...

    I have a dream.

Htrader, Unfortunately I have to agree with you. I hate to take this much stock home overnight. I really hate to do it when I'm as unconfident as I am now. The only indicator I can really use to tell that I think it's ready is the fact that I compute a ratio that can discern capitulatory...

    I have a dream.

I added some more mm and sold some of my prior mm at .82. I lowered my cost basis quite a bit by taking some losses now. I currently have 69k of mm at a basis of about .85

    I have a dream.

mm is just flat out oversold I tried to understand the company. It is hopeless to try, but I think it's a $3 company honestly. Thv on the other hand will make 35-60c this year depending on how you crunch the numbers. It's possible that they'll make a buck in 2003, but I think it's closer to...

good guess. MM it is. C'ya at a buck fifty.

    I have a dream.

shortee, I only have 37200 of thv. Good guess though. I bet one of you will figure it out. I bought on thurs at 1.05. I doubled up yesterday at under a buck. I really think that the only way to make a mil is to trade longer term positions like thv which I believe VERY strongly in. This position...

    I have a dream.

Honestly, I can say that size finally caught up with me. I made 218% last year by constantly upping my size. This was especially true of once we got 4:1 bp. AT some point, It finally just scared me. I'm not a million dollar trader. I will be though, someday. But I don't need to do it in one...

    Share Strategies

2 problems. It really sounds like the blind leading the blind.... The only way you'll all learn anything is if you can flag down someone very successful to mentor you. Otherwise, you'll just be sharing bad ideas and you won't learn nearly as fast off each other. Much more difficult...

    I've got a secret

Trading is easy. Making money isn't difficult. ------------------------------------------------------ There, I said it. I don't think there is anything special about me. I'm not particularly intelligent. I dont have any special trading secrets. Most of trading is boredom. You play endless...

    Trading Magazine

I think futurestrader is the best... i don't like that tech analysis one too much, but the interviews are good... activetrader is kinda basic. Honestly i subscribed to all 3 and won't do it this year.. I don't feel I get anything useful out of them.

New FASB rules for goodwill accounting

Thanx. I mention this mainly b/c I am building a monster position in THV because i see a big improvement comming in the stock. About 80% of their book value is goodwill. After the writeoff it should add about 23c or so a share to earnings annually. Which is quite a difference for a stock trading...
